“ | I'm through with tuliza, and this whole forest! There's just one thing I want now. I want to get... that... BUNGA! | „ |
~ Mama Binturong swearing revenge. |
Mama Binturong is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Makucha) in the third and final season of The Lion Guard.
She is an elderly binturong (also known as a bearcat) who acts like a mafia boss and uses her group of porcupines to make other animals comply with her desires. She later joins Makucha's army to reach the Tree of Life and get revenge on the Lion Guard, especially Bunga after he used his stink to ruin all of her tuliza.
She was voiced by Rachel House, who also played Malgosha in A Minecraft Movie.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Make Her Close to Pure Evil?[]
- When Smun speaks with her about a bunch of strange animals in the forest talking about her favorite food, she states that if those strangers want tuliza, they can't have it, and if they have tuliza then she wants it.
- She witnesses Makini take a few blossoms of tuliza from the gourds on her Bakora Staff and giving it to Kion. She then orders her porcupines to steal Makini's staff for her, and the moment she got her hands on it, she immediately eats the tulizas in the gourd and returns to her lair along with her porcupines.
- While she does have some comedic moments, none of them detract from her villainy as she's is still taken seriously in-universe.
- As Bunga traverses through the Stone Forest to get Makini's staff back, she and her porcupines lie in wait for him. As they battle over the staff, Bunga uses his stink to ruin all of her tuliza and escape. Furious, she leaves the forest to go after Bunga, swearing to get vengeance on the honey badger.
- While she's has the right to get mad at Bunga for stinking up her tuliza, this doesn't justify her actions considering she's was already bad before Bunga ruined her stash of tuliza, not to mention her wanting to kill him for this is very petty as she could have just chosen to get more tuliza but chose to get revenge on him out of spite.
- She pretends to an injured animal to the Night Pride and acts as a double-agent to learn new info on the enemies.
- While she was “affable” to the Night Pride, that was clearly a act to gain their trust and that act is dropped once they find out about her true nature.
- When she confronts Bunga for destroying her tuliza, she also states that she will also kill his friend Binga too. What makes this worse is that Binga had done absolutely nothing to her.
- While she doesn't abuse her minions, that does not mean she cares about them, only seeing them as expandable pawns and using them for her bidding as she wasn't upset when they got defeated, only worrying about herself.
- She and her gang attack Varya and her cubs at the mountain pass and when Varya ordering her cubs to run, She than orders Chuluun to kill them despite knowing they were children.
- She is responsible for Makuchu and his army's rampage.
- Once she has all of her army, she sends all of them to the tree of life to eat every rare animals despite knowing they were endanger animals.
- To prevent Ullu from alerting the Night Pride of their arrival, she grabs her from behind and has her porcupines surround Ullu so that she can't fly away.
- She showed sadism when watching her army attack the animals at the tree of life.
- When Kion defeats Makucha's army and summons a larger tornado to round up every member of the army, Mama Binturong feigns innocence, claiming she's just a harmless binturong when she gets sucked up by the tornado and is blown far away from the Tree of Life, ending the threat from her and the army for good.
- Though Scar is more dangerous than her as he killed thousands while she killed nobody, he has more resources than her as he has an army of hyenas, jackals, crocodiles, vultures, and other reptiles whereas Mama Binturong only had porcupines, Komodo dragons, and leopards as allies so she doesn't fail the heinous standards.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While she is taken as a serious threat by the Lion Guard and none of her comedic moments detract from her villainy, she has some that do like her weird love of tuliza and her defeat where she's begging that she's is just a harmless old binturong.
- Her defeat where Bunga farts on her is treated as an amusing running gag, for something to laugh at.
- Despite her attempt to claim leadership, the show and the characters still treat Makucha as the leader of the army and the main antagonist, and her attempts to take command are often dismissed or mocked.
