And God said unto Noah: "The end of all flesh is come before me; For the Earth is filled with violence through them; And, behold, I will destroy them with the Earth."
~ Magneto.

Magneto is one of the two main antagonists (alongside the Maker) of the Ultimate Marvel Universe, appearing as the main antagonist of both the Ultimate X-Men comic book series and the Ultimatum event.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He murdered his parents, accidentally with his father and purposefully with his mother, for attempting to kill him and experimenting on Wolverine for a way to remove his mutant abilities.
  • He has no tragic past, unlike his mainstream counterpart.
  • He is extremely racist and a supremacist, as he believes that mutants are the master race and that normal humans deserve to be wiped out.
  • He was also homophobic, as he called Quicksilver "effeminate," and sexist, as he called Polaris a "harlot."
  • He openly tries to kill Pietro, his son, on several occasions, and even when he's not doing that, he tends to berate and insult him at every opportunity.
  • He treats all his minions, even his own children, with absolute disdain and contempt. And he's not above killing them if they fail him or just for kicks. He also killed several of them during Ultimatum, for no clear reason.
  • When Charles tried to escape from his mutant city and return to civilization, he was crippled by a spear through the back.
  • He claimed to have eaten human flesh because he views humans as animals and plans to turn humanity into literal livestock for mutants.
  • He tried to nuke America when it looked like his plan to slaughter the American government had failed, stating he'd rather burn the entire world to the ground than let humans keep it.
  • He once beat Polaris into unconsciousness with a chair for rejecting his offer of allegiance and insulting his moniker.
  • In response to Wanda's potential death, he unleashed Ultimatum, which resulted in the deaths of millions of people.
  • His love for his daughter is not that genuine, as he openly favours Wanda, and the actions he took are made no less despicable because of it, and his favouritism of Wanda is portrayed as bad.
  • He killed Professor X after he compared him to other historical dictators.
  • He killed the wolverine because he believes he is no less than an animal.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He is somewhat remorseful as he realizes the truth about mutants: they're not endowed by divine or evolutionary influence but are instead the result of unintended genetic inheritance from the super soldier programme. Realizing the error of his ways, he said that Charles would forgive him, although his remorse was brief and happened in the final moments of his life, so it was a minor prevention.
