Ma'tol is an antagonist in the SCP Foundation series, appearing in the article SCP-2440, The Sealed King. He is the firstborn of the Old Gods and the brother and hated enemy of Xiolt-la/SCP-2440.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Alongside the other Old Gods, he created life purely to worship him and so he could torment them.
- Coveting the prizes of the other gods, he created horrific monsters and sent them to ravage thousands of worlds in an attempt to wipe out his sibling's worshippers and thus cause them to be forgotten, initiating a war that lasted for eons and led to innumerable deaths and numerous more people being enslaved to fight in the god's place.
- He attempted to slay his brother Xiolt-la because he disliked that he loved his creations, joining with his fellow gods to wage war against Xiolt-la.
- After challenging Xiolt-la to single combat, he fought a destructive ten thousand year duel against him which destroyed scores of worlds and threatened to annihilate all of reality.
- Even after being struck a deadly blow by Xiolt-la, he cursed him to be forgotten by his followers as he died, sealing him away on another plain of existence from which he could only escape by brainwashing 1, 000, 000 people to worship him. The process of escaping would result in the destruction of whatever world he manifested on.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He fails the Heinous Standards to his fellow Old Gods, who also destroyed innocent worlds and warred upon each other and Xiolt-la, and particularly the Scarlet King, an Old God who seeks to annihilate all of reality, raped the goddess Sanna to death and raped all seven of his daughters by her, and committed numerous other horrific crimes.
