~ Lou's most famous quote when he tries to discourage Moxy. |
Louis, more commonly referred to as Lou, is the main antagonist of the 2019 animated musical comedy film UglyDolls.
He is the tyrannical leader of the town of Perfection, wanting all the dolls who live there to live up to his "perfection" standards. Lou is a former friend of Ox and the arch-nemesis of Moxy.
He was voiced by Nick Jonas, who also played Boone Clemens from Scream Queens.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- When he first met the UglyDolls, he clearly mocked them by calling them ugly and tried to get them to leave, only letting them stay to humiliate them whatever he wants.
- After discovering that there was a town called UglyVille, he sent the Spy Girls to kidnap Ox and bring him to Perfection.
- After seeing the UglyDolls playing with glue, he tricked them into getting sent into a washing machine as a warning to avoid getting messy.
- He intentionally sabotaged the UglyDolls' efforts of passing classes and challenged by getting them to be messy and sending them in the washing machine.
- He forced Ox to tell the UglyDolls the truth about the assembly line just to discourage them from going to the Big World, and while he claimed that he was just trying to "protect" them, he then smiled sadistically and callously while they left depressingly as they lost their hope.
- Knowing that Moxy would never give up, he sent the Spy Girls to kidnap her and Mandy and throw them into the incinerator chute to keep her from getting to the big world and trying to inspire the UglyDolls, with even the Spy Girls being horrified at this.
- He only participated in the Gauntlet to make sure that the UglyDolls will never win, saying that he will throw all UglyDolls into recycling if Moxy and her friends lose, which counts as attempted genocide since the UglyDolls are a species.
- During the Gauntlet, he cheated in several ways to get Moxy and co. to lose, such as:
- Leaving Nolan to be attacked by a mechanical dog.
- Pushing Tuesday into a vacuum cleaner to save himself.
- Pushing a box of detergent to crush the UglyDolls.
- Kicking a sapient mechanical baby in the face when it catches him, leading to it bursting into tears, this act was especially egregious and is what turned his fellow perfect dolls against him
- He took a knitting needle to destroy the portal to the big world, which would later be fixed by the UglyDolls and the Perfection dolls.
- Though Ox tried his best to have a reason with him, Lou refused to reconsider his ways and let go of his past, even if it means refusing to give up destroying the portal to the Big World.
- He showed no care for the Perfection dolls at all, insulting them and even being implied to have sent some to be recycled for not living up to his impossibly high standards.
- Despite the Spy Girls serving him as their boss, he never showed his gratitude and didn't show any care towards them, as he abused them by insulting them, such as calling them "mindless sycophants", which eventually led to them turning on him near the end of the movie.
- Even though he was pleading for a second chance, it was clearly out of cowardice as he was afraid that he will get punished and never be forgiven, and even after he was given a second chance as a janitor in the credits, he loathed this and didn't feel a shred of remorse for his actions. Thus, his fate of being thrown into a washing machine by Nolan was completely warranted.
- While he does have a tragedy, it doesn't justify anything he did. No matter how being a prototype doll hurts him inside, his actions surpassed the excuse because:
- The reason why he became bitter and condescending was because he was sent to help the dolls find their perfect human match and cannot go to the big world while others could. His hatred towards the UglyDolls was part of his jealousy due to them having the opportunity he never had.
- Despite "befriending" Ox, he eventually turned on him by rigging the classes and challenges and sending him to the trash compactor chute, leading him to founding UglyVille as a result. During their confrontation, he admitted that Ox was going to leave him just like the others, so that's why he had the Perfection dolls turn on him and attempt to recycle him.
- The UglyDolls and the Perfection dolls that he took his anger on had nothing to do with him being a prototype doll.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Although his backstory does not justify his actions, he is still insecure due to being a prototype doll that could never go to the big world and had to watch the other dolls leaving, which does sometimes get played sympathetically. This is why he hated the UglyDolls; because of them having the opportunity he never did.
- He has some comedic moments, such as his defeat where he was getting thrown into a washing machine by Nolan.
