~ Lord Dominator attempting to kill Sylvia to emotionally break Wander, and her most infamous quote.
Lord Dominator is the main antagonist of Wander Over Yonder, serving as the overarching antagonist of Season 1 and the main antagonist of Season 2.
She was the Destroyer of Worlds who was formerly at the top of the Galactic Villain Leaderboard. She has the personality of a bubbly teenager while also having the interests of a psychopathic serial killer.
She was voiced by Noël Wells in her true form. In her armored form, she was voiced by Fred Tatasciore, who also voiced Gatō in the English dub of Naruto, The Mawgu in Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island, Warden Kuril in Mass Effect 2, CLU 2 in TRON: Uprising, the Red Hulk in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Carnage in Ultimate Spider-Man, Diego Gómez in Resident Evil: Vendetta, Shao Kahn in the Mortal Kombat Legends films and Dr. Ludvig Maxis in Call of Duty: Zombies.
It is implied that she has already destroyed other galaxies before her arrival to the one from the show.
Her ultimate goal was to destroy the entire galaxy for her own entertainment and nothing else.
When Wander first met her and tried to befriend her, she ignored him before eventually encasing him in iron and seriously injuring him.
She drained the life out of countless planets, having her robots terrorize worlds, with the inhabitants fleeing or living in fear for their lives.
She killed her robotic minions whenever they failed her.
When Bot 13/Beep Boop redeemed himself and disobeyed her orders, she remorselessly killed him.
When Emperor Awesome went to her ship and promised to give her a "weapon", only to reveal that he just wanted to show his muscles to impress Dominator, she encased him and tossed him out of her ship before destroying his own ship. At a later point, she captured him, and her cruelty towards him left him traumatized.
She captured all the other villains in the galaxy and forced them to kneel to her as well, before sending Lord Hater an "invitation" to her ship, and when he arrived, she revealed that she only wanted him to bow to her.
She mocked Hater for thinking she was interested in him, as well as Wander for trying to befriend her, explaining that she only wanted to spread evil and destruction.
She tried to kill Hater and Wander, and when her ship started to freeze, she tossed them into a prison.
She decided to disguise herself and temporarily "befriend" Sylvia, and while it first seemed like they were having fun together, when an owner of a club asked them to apologize for their actions, Dominator refused and insulted him.
When the owner threatened to drop them into a monster pit, she kicked him in instead and threatened to do the same to the others in the club if they didn't obey her, and when Sylvia disobeyed her and went to help the owner, she left both of them to be eaten by it.
According to Wander, she threw her jacket into a bus driver’s face, which caused a three-car pileup.
She tried to destroy a flower that Wander and Sylvia were trying to protect after she destroyed most of the galaxy, so that she could break their spirits and make them lose all hope.
When Wander went onto her ship again to try redeem her, she chased him around the ship while trying to destroy him, before making an ice sculpture of Sylvia and blasting its head off to make Wander think she killed her.
While she didn't kill Wander on the spot, it was only because she sadistically wanted to prolong his suffering by chasing him down herself.
After Wander accidentally revealed the only remaining planet that his friends were hiding on, she refused to kill him to spare them, had him scanned to reveal the planet's location, and freezed him to make him watch everyone he knows and loves die, terrifying the inhabitants by raising and lowering her drill multiple times.
When she just decided to destroy the planet, she had her robots grab Sylvia, so that she could make Wander cry as he watched her drill through her body.
When Hater stopped her drill, she ruthlessly mocked and insulted him, and would have succeeded in breaking him emotionally had Sylvia not interfered and everyone not cheered him on.
After losing her ship, powers, and army, she still refused to redeem herself, even after Wander saved her and offered her another shot at turning over a new leaf despite the fact she had almost killed everyone he loves.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?
She isn't serious enough for Pure Evil, as her character flip-flops between a genuinely menacing threat and a comedic and quirky evil nerd, the latter of which involves a scene from an episode that shows her watching a cartoon resembling a cross between Gravity Falls, the Jetsons, and Scooby Doo. That being said, she loses almost all of her comedic quirks by the end of the series, with her actions such as trying to destroy the last planet in the galaxy and attempting to personally kill Sylvia just to break Wander played completely straight, on top of some of her comical moments either not detracting or outright highlighting how heinous she is, such as her repeatedly lowering and raising her drill on the last remaining planet with a big grin on her face, so this comes off as a very minor prevention at best.
Her loneliness reveal in the finale is treated with genuine sympathy and she even seemed genuinely hesitant when rejecting an offer at redemption, with there even being sad music playing when Wander tells her that's why she's such a bully; she's lonely.
Trivia
Craig McCracken originally wanted to make a third season of Wander Over Yonder, but Disney declined to renew the show even though McCracken already had a plan for such season. If the third season had been produced, assuming that Lord Dominator would have returned, her return could have affected her Near Pure Evil status, whether that be making her Pure Evil or Inconsistently Heinous.
