~ Nina talking to Frenchie about when he used to work for her. |
Nina Namenko, best known as Little Nina, is a major antagonist in Season 3 of the Amazon TV adaptation of the comic book series The Boys. She is a Russian crime boss who was previously acquainted with Frenchie before he joined the Boys.
She was portrayed by Katia Winter.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She is known for being a cruel crime boss who distributes drugs, willing to kill anybody who interferes with her business.
- When she had Frenchie work for her, she mentioned that she used a dog collar and a strap on on him from time to time, implying that she could've raped him or at the very least aggressively had sex with him that scared his body.
- Although Cherie did steal Nina's drugs shipment, Nina went way overboard with the punishment by being willing to ruthlessly hunt her down and kill her, with Cherie having to resort to Frenchie to help her escape the country.
- She eventually had Frenchie kidnapped by her henchmen and brought to her, after which she would taunt him about the times he worked with her. She further humiliated him by calling him a "dog" loyal to whoever holds his leash: William Butcher, herself and his abusive father. She also mocks him for that time she had him with a collar and a strap on, only letting him leave when he revealed that he was working with the government and could call them on her.
- While she did help the Boys with travelling to Russia to seek a weapon to defeat Homelander, it was only after she was paid thousands of dollars and with the condition that she would have Billy Butcher convince Kimiko to kill a target in Russia, basically having the whole deal be pragmatic.
- While she did bring Kimiko chocolate limes when she was in the hospital, it was only a front so she could talk with Frenchie. She demanded Frenchie to compensate her for the mess the Boys made in Russia. Even after Frenchie clarified that it was Billy's fault, Nina still held him responsible simply for introducing Butcher to her.
- In order to pay up, she would order Frenchie to kill a father and his child. When he initially denied killing a little girl, she clarifies that "it never stopped him before", implying that she had him do this job possibly many times before.
- When Frenchie refused to complete the assassination before Nina's deadline, she would have him, Kimiko and Cherie kidnapped and brought to an empty factory. Kimiko and Cherie were tied up to chairs and Frenchie was tortured while naked.
- She further humiliates Frenchie by revealing the origins of different scars across his naked body.
- She then had him choose to have either Cherie or Kimiko killed in front of him, threatening to kill them both if he did not choose, sadistically taunting him all the while.
- She doesn't seem to show any care towards her henchmen, seeing as when Kimiko was free from her restraints and violently killed one of her henchmen, Nina was already far from the building.
- These events leave both Frenchie and Kimiko scarred for the next episodes, and would eventually be the reason that convinced Kimiko to take Compound V to regain her powers.
- She gets away with all her actions with no consequences.
- Unlike many villains in the show, including even the Seven, she has no Freudian Excuse nor any care for anyone other than herself.
- Even in a world with a Heinous Standard as high as in The Boys, she manages to stand out due to her having no powers like the Supes and not possessing a large company as Vought at her disposal, only being a crime boss who does have a couple of henchmen and being especially sadistic when punishing people who she deems enemies.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- The full extent of her crimes rely on Fridge Horror, as her possible rape is only mentioned offhandedly and the scale of her victim count is unclear. However, due to the fact that she does have very personal villainy with Frenchie and Kimiko, this is only a minor prevention.
Trivia[]
- Her original comic incarnation is also Near Pure Evil, but for different reasons. Although that version of her doesn’t fail the Heinous Standards, unlike the TV version, she has a comedic defeat.
