| ~ Lex blaming Superman for Dark Kahn's creation. |
Alexander Joseph "Lex" Luthor is the secondary antagonist of the 2008 crossover video game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.
He is the CEO of Lexcorp, the arch-nemesis of Superman, and the DC equivalent of Jax Briggs. Initially helping Darkseid takeover Earth to "ensure humanity's survival", Lex would find himself amidst the merging of their realm, where, alongside his fellow members of the Legion of Doom and the Justice League alike, he would need to work together briefly to ensure their world's survival, alongside his own.
He was voiced by Joe J. Thomas.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Helps Darkseid invade Earth, getting likely many people killed and endangering earth in the process to ensure his own survival, not caring what Darkseid does to Earth, as long as he survives.
- Furthermore, Lex's explanation that he only allied with Darkseid to protect Earth is nothing but a complete lie. Based on his actions he really only did it to save himself and didn't care about what happened to the rest of humanity. Considering Lex's narcissism, him claiming that he was protecting humanity was more so him only seeing humanity as himself.
- His actions would end up leading to Dark Kahn's creation; though this action was unintentional.
- After he is imprisoned by Superman, he would soon escape, claiming that "The evidence didn't hold up".
- When infected with the Kombat Rage, he attempts to kill Green Lantern and steal his ring.
- Continues to blame Superman for everything that happened despite his own indirect responsibility in Dark Kahn's creation.
- While he did eventually team up with, and help the heroes defeat Dark Kahn, this was only out of selfish pragmatism and for his own survival, not out of genuine heroism.
- In his Arcade Ending, he forms an alliance with Quan Chi to attack and rule both worlds.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He does ultimately fail the Heinous Standards of the game as his crimes are too reliant on other villains; his alliance with Darkseid, while bad, was still Darkseid doing all the work and Lex's actions leading to the creation of Dark Kahn was unintentional, as with that being intentional he probably would be Pure Evil.
Trivia[]
- This adaptation, alongside his Arrowverse, Justice Lords, and Superman Returns counterparts are the only versions of Lex Luthor to be Near Pure Evil.
