Lester McClintock is a minor character in the HBO drama Succession, a show that follows the power struggle between a family of billionaires wishing to overthrow their father as CEO of his company. During Lester's time working there, he was the head of the Brightstar Cruises division, a position he gave to Bill Lockhart, who later gave it to Tom Wambsgans.

He is the driving force behind the FBI investigation of the business's cover-ups of his sex crimes towards his workers.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He would abuse his role as the head of the Brightstar Cruises division of Waystar Royco to hire women solely for sexual gratification. When the women’s work contracts were almost expired, he promised to renew them in exchange for sexual favors.
  • On some occasions, he would sexually assault and rape some of his employees. He became so infamous for it that his colleagues nicknamed him "Mo-Lester".
  • It is stated that multiple of the girls that fell victim to Lester’s sexual abuse, were also murdered and buried, most likely under Lester’s orders.
  • It's implied that he may have been a pedophile considering his nickname generally has implications associated with abusing children, along with how Logan would never let him near his kids when they were at the pool.
  • While his crimes were never shown onscreen, they were clearly relevant to the plot as his division was given the most attention in the cover-ups that drove the conflict relating to the criminal investigations on Waystar during seasons 1-3.
  • Despite competing with Logan Roy in the heinous standards of the series, he is still able to stand out due to having significantly fewer resources.
  • Although he has a wife who appeared to be upset at his funeral, there is no confirmation that the affection went both ways, and considering he likely cheated on her going off his perverse acts as the head of Brightstar Cruises, the possibility of him loving her is quite slim.
  • While a journalist did claim he spoke fondly of Connor Roy in his final moments, it's ambiguous how truthful she was being given her aim was to dig up dirt on Connor from his speech at Lester's funeral, and it's probable she only said that to get a reaction out of him.
    • Even if it was true, given his history, it’s possible his care for Connor only came from twisted perversion given his implied pedophilia in relation to the Roy children.
  • He is a Karma Houdini as he dies of natural causes without receiving any kind of punishment for his actions.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He is insufficiently characterized as he never appears on the show in person and the only bits of information we're given about his personality come from relatively unreliable sources like Connor Roy, and the journalist who interviewed him.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only character from Succession to be Near Pure Evil.
