Lemur, also known as Gemini Saga, is a supporting antagonist in Saint Seiya, serving as the main antagonist of the Santuary arc of the series.
His Evil Ranking[]
Debated Validations[]
- He's implied to have some love for his creator, Ker. For he turned to her after leaving Saga's body. However, it is more likely that his motves for this were out of desperation for having no one else to turn to rather than genuine appreciation, but it's never made clear.
- The fact that he died by being trampled by Ker, his creator, could be seen as sympathetic. But given the heinousness of his acts, that interpretation is not.
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Possessing Gemini Saga while the latter was just a baby.
- Knocking Shion unconscious and erasing her and Dokho's memory after the two discovered his true identity.
- Using Gemini Saga's body to kill Shion and usurp her identity and position as Pope of the Sanctuary after effectively possessing and corrupting him.
- Trying to kill the then infant Athena, only being stopped by Aiolos of Sagittarius.
- Ordering for Aiolos to be killed and causing his younger brother, Aiolia, to be tormented his entire life thanks to learning that he was a direct relative of an alleged traitor.
- In the anime, he weaponized his position as a pope to become rule over the Sanctuary with an iron fist, utilizing his power for hedonistic purposes, torturing his soldiers under the guise of it being "training" and callously discarding his minions as if they were trash.
- Threatening all the powers of the world with reprisals if they rebelled against him.
- Turning Hyoga into a sanctuary spy in the galactic tournament for the sake of being able to obtain the sagittarius armor back for his goals of world domination.
- Enslaving Ikki to work for him and the Sanctuary and also insisted for him to steal the armor and kill the main characters, which led to the Black Gentlemen arc.
- Sending Docrates to attack Ikki for failing in his mission (Putting him to blame for the latter's death) in the anime.
- Ordering the Silver Saints to dispose of the protagonists, additionally making him responsible for the silver saint's arc.
- Commanding the golden saints to kill Dokho and Andromeda's Shun master, and he became responsible for Aphrodite killing Shun's master.
- Ordering for a hospitalized Seiya to ne killed by Aiolia and the other Silver Saints.
- Using Saori Kido (the Athena) to lure the heroes into attending a diplomatic meeting only to lure Saori to the Shrine for the sake of retrieving an arrow from one of his minions that only he can remove.
- Constantly oppressing Saga of Gemini when he tried to foil his goals.
- Viciously torturing Seiya and Ikki by depriving them of their vital senses, beating them and destroying their armor.
- Trying to keep Seiya from using the Shield of Athena on Saori to remove the arrow that had been responsible for nearly killing her by trying to kill him himself.
- When Athena, the Golden Saints and others confronted him, his response was a delusional monologue in which he insists that everything he did was for the sake of ensuring the "safety" of the planet and even calling Athena weak.
- Trying to kill Athena, an act that cost Saga of Gemini's life for him to be able to stop it.
- He's among the characters responsible for causing the biggest amount of tragedies in the entirety of the franchise, as the casualties in Athena's army that greatly impacted the arcs against Poseidon and Hades were almost entirely his fault.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- The fact that he was created by the Goddess Ker for the purpose of killing Athena gives him moral agency issues. However, he has a clear personality through his sadism, pettiness, and manipulation, not to mention that he even has some secondary goals of his own, so this is a very minor prevention.
