Thomas Brown Hewitt, better known as Leatherface is the secondary antagonist of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake timeline, serving as the main antagonist of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the remake of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and the secondary antagonist of its prequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. He is the right-hand man and brother of Charlie Hewitt and son of Luda Mae. This version of Leatherface is considered to be the most brutal, psychotic, and ruthless version of him.

He was portrayed by Andrew Bryniarski.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He tried to kill his coworker for calling him dumb, only stopping so he can kill his boss for firing him, which he proceeded to do.
  • He disemboweled Holden when he tried to kill Charlie for killing his girl.
  • He skinned some of Eric's flesh off and then kills him with his chainsaw and cut off his face to wear.
  • He cut off his own uncle's legs on the orders of Charlie.
  • He took out Bailey's teeth and then slit her throat at the dinner table.
  • He killed Dean.
  • He snuck into Chrissy's car and killed her right before she escaped, which also caused her to run over 2 people.
  • He beat Kemper to death and cut off his face to wear.
  • He killed 3 people offscreen, as them and their severed limbs are shown.
  • He cut Andy legs off and then put salt on the wound and wrapped it up to cause extra pain.
  • He killed Pepper and Morgan.
  • He attempted to kill Erin at the meat plant before getting his arm cut off by her.
  • He killed two cops offscreen when they investigate the crime scene.
  • He got away from any type of punishment unlike his brother Charlie.
  • While at first he didn't seem to have characterization since he never talked, his actions give enough to be judged, as he is shown to be vicious, prone to petty vengeance as he killed his boss for firing him and almost his coworker for calling him a name, and while not as sadistic as Charlie, he is still very cruel and sadistic as shown when he rubbed salt on Andy's wound. He is also completely proud of his work if making his masks and loves to butcher rather it's humans or animals.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He's tragic as he was born deformed with his mother dying while giving birth in the place, she and her son worked at due to her boss not caring and being tossed in the trash to where he was picked up by the Hewitt's. This is minor though as it isn't brought up that much plus he doesn't even know about his biological mother nor his boss's indirect involvement in her death.
  • He is genuinely insane due to only seeing his murders and mask crafting as a hobby and a way of eating.
  • He had a mutually loving relationship with his brother Charlie as he saved him when Holden was about to kill him and demonstrating clear loyalty to him in all his actions.

Trivia[]

  • He is one of four Texas Chainsaw Massacre villains to be Near Pure Evil, along with Verna Sawyer, Grandpa Sawyer and Charlie Hewitt Jr..
    • He is also the only version of Leatherface to be Near Pure Evil as his other versions don't qualify due to them being too tragic and them having too impaired moral agency.
