La Femme is the main antagonist of the 2007 French live-action horror film Inside. She spends the majority of the movie terrorizing a pregnant Sarah trying to take her infant from her and is more than willing to kill anyone who gets in her way through unnecessarily brutal means.

She was portrayed by French actress Béatrice Dalle.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She began stalking Sarah and frightened her even further by revealing that she knows who she is before policemen try to stop it.
  • Upon breaking into the house, she tries to cut open Sarah's belly only for Sarah to fight her off and escape her. She would cause some more wounds along the way before Sarah locks herself in a bathroom.
    • This would wind up causing Sarah to accidentally kill her own mother upon mistaking her for La Femme. When La Femme discovers this, she does not show remorse over it.
  • She brutally kills Jean-Pierre Montalban by at first stabbing him in the leg, then stabbing him in the crotch, and then multiple other areas in his body before suffocating him with a pillow and stabbing his head through the pillow to death.
  • While sitting outside the bathroom door, she pretends to pet Sarah's cat only to kill it by snapping its neck for no good reason at all.
  • When Sarah tries to break out of the bathroom, she pins her hand painfully to the wall with her scissors.
  • When 2 policemen become suspicious of her, she brutally kills one of them by stabbing him with a knife in the head and the other by shooting him in the head with a gun before trying to antagonize Sarah some more.
  • She tried to shoot Sarah with a gun several times.
  • When the third policeman comes in with a delinquent, she gouges out his eyes before brutally killing the delinquent by stabbing him in his eye even though he served no threat to her at all.
  • After Sarah manages to outsmart her by burning her face with a flamethrower, when the policeman whose eyes were gouged out tries to attack La Femme, she kills him by impaling him in the gut with the weapon Sarah made.
  • She proceeded to mutilate and cut open Sarah's belly just to get her infant out, even though Sarah begged her to save the child and cut her open.
  • She easily passes the baseline with 7 kills, combined with how brutal they were.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She has a genuine tragedy in that she lost her infant while pregnant in a car crash and this would serve as the reason as to why she would try to take Sarah's baby from her, also leading to her crying at Sarah finally letting her get the baby in the end out of desperation to save the child, though this doesn't really do much to excuse the brutality of her murders, especially when three out of seven of them (Jean-Pierre, the delinquent, and Sarah's cat) were needless, so this is a rather minor prevention.
  • She has some care for her unborn infant and cares for Sarah's infant, the latter being proven by her finally crying when Sarah told her to cut her open and save the child in satisfaction, finally risking all to get what she wanted, which is played for sympathy.
