Kundo is a minor antagonist in Ben 10: Omniverse. He is a grandmaster of Revonnah Kai and the former mentor and arch-nemesis of Rook Blonko.
He was voiced by Jeff Bennett, who also voiced Zs'Skayr in the same franchise.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- In general, he viewed technology as "corruption" and whoever gets used to it is a disgrace to the Revonnahganders and their traditions. While in actuality, his viewing can be considered hypocrisy as it is described by Rook as "arbitrary" since the Revonnahganders still used machines to stock their Amber Ogia and were willing to negotiate with outsiders despite what he believed in.
- He disapproved of Rook's departure and joining the Plumbers, when Rook Shar was about to leave as well, he tried to shame Rook Da and their family by ranting his beliefs to his people in hopes of earning his favor. However, this fails.
- Assaulted and broke the bones of Rook Da when he stalls time for his daughter's departure, although he assured Da that his bones would heal and said he doesn't want to harm him, he apathetically dismissed this coldly.
- It was also the reason Rook renounced him as his master upon learning about this from Shar as he crossed the line between his family.
- Attempted to bring back both Rook and Shar, as well as Young One who went along unknowingly, by force.
- Provoked Ben into fighting him and when he effortlessly beat him, he tried to kill him with his spear.
- Destroyed Rook's Proto-Tool, leaving him unarmed.
- Bashed the car of a civilian simply because he hated the noise.
- When he was cornered into entering the public streets, he uses Stone Cutter to silence the car noises, which the impact was so powerful it could've endangered the drivers inside to potential harm.
- Ambushed Rook when he was looking for him and when Shar arrived at his aid, he tries to use Stone Cutter to kill her, only for Rook to take the hit and was left injured. If it wasn't for his armor, he likely would've been killed as Kundo said himself later on that "[he] would not survive the Stone Cutter".
- Bribed a captain with Amber Ogia to make room for him after capturing Rook and Shar, forcing them to come back to Revonnah against their wills on the ship. He would later intend to find Young One to bring back as well.
- He prepares to kill Rook with the Stone Cutter before he blocked the assault in time.
- Upon being saved by a medic, who's specialized in cyberkinetic modifications, by modifying his body. Instead of being grateful despite his hatred for technology, he was appalled by his current condition and became an "abomination".
- However, this doesn't make this pitiful to be an excuse since what happened to him was an accident and blamed it all on Rook instead. This is also pointed back by the fact that he caused his own downfall when he tried to kill Rook using Stone Cutter and he had no excuse at all when he tried to force Shar and Young One back to Revonnah.
- As he plotted for revenge, he infiltrated and hacked into Plumbers Headquarters without being seen during graveyard shift and knocked out Bryk and Morty, the only strongest members at that time, as he locked out the weaker Plumbers to prevent any interference, especially Rook and Robucket.
- He implanted a self-destruct virus into the HQ's systems and have it transmitted into his Comm-Link to have the virus spread throughout multiple installations of the Plumbers throughout the galaxy, intending to have them all wiped out just because his hatred for technology was appointed to them after his last confrontation with Rook and thus seeing them as "corruption" throughout the galaxy.
- His actions could've jeopardized the safety and well-being of the universe itself without the Plumbers had it succeeded if it wasn't for Rook stopping him in time.
- He also intended to move his home planet, Revonnah, away from any part close to Earth, which is segregation at its finest.
- He also planned to go after Rook Shar after destroying the Plumbers HQ and destroy the Plumbers Academy next. Despite his intentions of bringing back Rook Shar by force, he wasn't above letting the virus get through the academy as well, which also could've got Shar killed along with the other students there.
- While fighting Rook and Fistina, he knocked out and destroyed Robucket, which he later dismissed as a "machine".
- Even after he was defeated, his virus was too strong for the base's core to shut down to where the overloaded progress could've resulted in an explosion so big it would wipe out North America as explicitly stated by Driba. While this wasn't necessarily Kundo's intention, he still doesn't show remorse over it and boastfully is relieved about how he'll see the earth "purged" because of his actions.
- Despite having moments of honor where he allows Ben to transform into any alien to continue their fight and hands Rook his spear during his return to make the fight fair, it wasn't close to being fair since he had a much stronger weapon compared to his spear and only used this opportunity to show how "technology destroys civilizations". Therefore his honorable side subverted, let alone his hypocrisy overwhelming his beliefs in Revonnahgander traditions.
- While he did somewhat have respect for his kind's traditions, it was ultimately delusional to where he was going through great lengths to enforce others against their wills back to Revonnah and wipe out the Plumbers which could've jeopardized the universe's well-being from potential threats. Specifically to the point, his actions did more harm than good, and personally thought his actions will make him a "hero" while in actuality he was too much of a threat because of this, making him Not-So-Well-Intentioned.
- While Kundo isn't anywhere heinous in the likes of Vilgax, Aggregor, Maltruant and Eon. He comes close to standing out due to having fewer resources and being the most personal enemy of Rook.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Although his actions may seem enough to make him stand out, he still fails the heinous standards to Ragnarok, who also has fewer resources like Kundo and successfully manages to destroy millions to billions of lives due to destroying solar systems via absorbing stars. However, this is a minor prevention since he holds personal villainy towards Rook and his actions could've resulted in jeopardizing the universe's safety without the plumbers around.
- His actions arguably suffer from Fridge Horror since it was never specified how many Plumber installations or bases were there throughout the galaxy to amount to his attempted kill count. However, it is minor since there were a few known Plumber bases on Earth and outside space, let alone his self-destruct virus overpowering the HQ's core could've wiped out North America indirectly, which is the only act explicitly stated by Driba and does not suffer from Fridge Horror.
