~ Kludd finally reveals his true nature as he is completely influenced by the Pure Ones. |
Kludd is the secondary antagonist of Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Different to his book counterpart, Kludd becomes a servant to Surtr who holds the title of Metal Beak, becoming one of the Pure Ones due to his hateful grudge against his brother Soren and his father Noctus' tales about the Guardians of Ga'Hoole.
He was voiced by Ryan Kwanten.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- While he used to be close to his family, he eventually discarded that due to hating his father Noctus telling stories about the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, and especially started to hate his brother Soren due to the latter's interest in those stories.
- He did nothing to protect Soren when attacked by the Tasmanian Devil and when Soren called Kludd for help, he just watches and stays back despite Soren saving his life earlier during the attack.
- After he and Soren were kidnapped by the Pure Ones, he spitefully looked away from Soren when Nyra asked if he wants to join him, deciding to join the Pure Ones instead.
- He willingly trains to become a Pure One by attacking his classmates and catching the bluebird they were after, and it increases his belief that Tytos are better than other owls in the long run so he believes Tytos should be the ruling class of the owl kingdoms.
- He doesn't care about Nyra and just sees her as an embodiment of his racism towards non-Tytos. This is shown when he is contronted with the choice to return to Soren and join the Guardians, or helping Nyra fight off Grimble, choosing the latter because he feels like he's already at home with the Pure Ones. Also during Surtr's speech, Kludd looks at Nyra with glee because she represents the Pure Ones, not genuine love.
- Following the night when Nyra killed Grimble, Kludd offers to bring his younger sister Eglantine over to the Pure Ones, and kidnaps her from her nest to the point she is visibly frightened by Kludd showing his worth to Surtr.
- Any care he may have had for Eglantine is thrown out the window when he moonblinks her alongside Nyra to make her forget who she was, and he only gives her to Allomere as part of Surtr's plan to wipe out the Guardians via a trap that Surtr and Allomere set up.
- When he sees the Guardians being tortured by the flecks, he has no remorse for it and has no problems with the bats draining their blood to kill them. He also get furious when he realizes Soren is trying to fend off the bats with his comrades.
- He tries to kill Soren in the nearby forest fire when Soren is protecting the owlets, even after Soren tries to save his life.
- While he didn't cause as much terror as Surtr or Nyra, he stands out with fewer resources, being only a soldier for the Pure Ones rather than one of their leaders and comitting more personally evil actions.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has a small amount of compassion toward the bluebird he captured during his training, as he chooses to release it after Nyra makes her gesture for him to do so. While he later says that "honor is just another word for weakness" during his fight with Soren, he still had some slight compassion for said bird when releasing him.
Trivia[]
- He of one of the two villains from Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole to be Near Pure Evil, the other one being Nyra.
