Kiros is the overarching antagonist of Disney's 2019 remake film The Lion King and the main antagonist of its 2024 prequel/sequel Mufasa: The Lion King.
He is a white lion who leads a pride of white lionesses known as the Outsiders and seeks to conquer the Pride Lands. Throughout the movie, he ruthlessly hunts down Mufasa and Taka, in order to avenge his son Shaju's death by killing the former as revenge for killing him.
He was voiced by Mads Mikkelsen.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Before of the events of the film, he led the Outsiders on numerous massacres against other lion prides, including the ones of Obasi and Eshe.
- He mentioned that he killed every lion pride in the Valley of Kings which includes many regicides.
- In a deleted scene, it's shown that he tasted the kings that lived in the valley.
- While he has some comedic moments such as his song "Bye Bye", they all just highlight his sadistic and ruthless nature and he is taken dead seriously by all the other characters in the universe.
- He shows no care towards his pride, including his own sisters, being indifferent to their defeats or deaths throughout the movie.
- His relationship with his sisters Akua and Amara is vague, and it's unknown if he cares about them or not so its too vague to be a redeeming quality, furthermore they are shown to fear him and always call him by "majesty" rather than "brother” which implies that their relationship is not healthy.
- He attempted to take over Milele and rule it without mercy.
- After he find out there are lions in Milele, he send his lionesses to kill them, which also includes cubs.
- He has his lionesses kill Azibo for supposedly leaving his son to die, despite him begging him and saying that he was injured, which makes the act unjustified as Shaju was already dead before he fled and thus didn't leave him to die.
- While trying to kill Mufasa, he left Taka with a scar across his left eye after the latter tried to save the former from him.
- Before his death, he tries to drown Mufasa.
- Although Rafiki does state that the Outsiders were ostracized from their pride for being different, this does not make Kiros or any of the other members tragic as they never bring it up and are shown to be more motivated by sadism and lust for power.
- Although his death, in which he drowns in water is horrible, it isn’t played for sympathy, as he deserved it for his atrocious actions.
- Despite his death, Kiros' actions have caused the estrangement between Mufasa and Taka, as even though Mufasa forgives Taka for his betrayal, he refuses to refer to him by his birth name anymore, and Taka renames himself as Scar before later growing up to be completely jealous towards Mufasa and proceeding to murder him. It makes Kiros indirectly responsible for the events of the remake continuity.
- He is the most evil of the villains in the remake continuity since he essentially is committing genocide against his own species, he is even worse than Scar and is a bigger threat than him.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He cares for his deceased son Shaju, with his death being the primary reason why he wants to kill Mufasa and Taka/Scar in the first place, which is consistently brought up throughout the movie.
