Kinkaku was a member of the Hidden Cloud Village along with his brother, Ginkaku. He, along with his brother, were known as the Gold and Silver Brothers. He was a traitor to the Hidden Cloud Village by staging a coup against the Second Raikage along with his brother. Since their deaths, they were reincarnated by Kabuto Yakushi to participate in the Fourth Shinobi World War for the Akatsuki forces. Since Ginkaku's defeat by Darui, Kinkaku went on a rampage to kill many people until his own defeat. He was a major antagonist during the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation arc.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?

• In the past, he participated in a coup against the Second Raikage and the Hidden Cloud Village and an attack on the Tobirama Senju during a formal ceremony. When telling Tsunade about him and his brother, the Fourth Raikage noted that Kinkaku along with his brother was one of the worst criminals in the history of the Hidden Cloud Village.
• During the First Shinobi World War, he led an attack against Tobirama's group where he was able to kill Tobirama, the Second Hokage of Hidden Leaf Village.
• When he was brought back as an undead construct to fight for the Akatsuki in the Fourth Shinobi World War, he attacked both Samui and Atsui by drawing out their word souls to allow Ginkaku to seal them in the Benihisago. This led to both Samui and Atsui being sealed away by Ginkaku for the remainder of the war. He also attempted to have Darui sealed away.
• After Ginkaku was sealed within the Benihisago by Darui, Kinkaku goes on a rampage against the First Division Army by launching large attacks against the army killing dozens of ninjas.

• He expressed extreme anger after Ginkaku was sealed by Darui into the Benihisago, which shows that he cared for his brother.
