“ | The only criminal I see is the masked man guilty of breaking and entering into my private building. A violent vigilante the Daily Bugle has branded a menace. And now you've threatened me. I dare say Jonah Jameson will praise me as a hero after I kill you... in self-defense, of course. | „ |
Wilson Fisk, also known as The Kingpin, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Cletus Kasady) of the 2014 superhero video game The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
He is a seemingly kind and charitable businessman who claims to want to repay the city and make a difference by trying to “stop” crime. But is secretly a selfish crime lord who seeks to control New York's criminal empire just for power and to eliminate his rivals, with the help of serial killer Cletus Kasady.
He was voiced by JB Blanc, who also voiced Enrico Maxwell in Hellsing Ultimate.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Became a ruthless criminal mastermind just for power.
- He hired Cletus Kassady, Kraven The Hunter and Chameleon to kill his rivals, kill Spider-Man and oversee many unethical experiments on behalf of Oscorp/Fisk (secretly) at Ravencroft respectively.
- It's very likely he killed the real Donald Menken and 11 other people, while having Chameleon to impersonate as Menken.
- Oversaw many experiments on prisoners at Ravencroft by having “Donald Menken” (Chameleon) by having them either physically and psychologically tortured/abused or having them injected with mysterious substances. One of his tortured victims was Max Dillon (Electro), as said torture is what caused him to lose his humanity and start to plot a mass murder on everyone at Oscorp. He also had Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) experimented on and ordered her to kill Spider-Man, and threatening to kill her if she refused. He also, according to a collectible audio tape is mentioned to have intentionally kept secrets about Felicia’s father Walter Hardy’s fate a secret.
- It was mentioned by Black Cat that he have bribed most police officers on the NYC police force.
- While he did agree to help fund a criminal task force and help pay for the damages Shocker caused at Oscorp, this is both only to appear good in the public eye and to somewhat try to manipulate a slowly dying Harry Osborn to give him Oscorp. And when Harry denies Fisk the right to Oscorp, Fisk coldly says “I will just wait until you die of that disease that killed your father”.
- It’s mentioned, that most of the people he hired as part of his task force are corrupt police officers, people with a history of violence and mentally unstable individuals with desires to hurt others.
- He unfairly hates on Spider-Man by claiming he makes crime worse and only cares for making children happy and only dealing with very minor crimes such as purse snatchers. This is also incredibly hypocritical on Fisk’s part, considering it’s his own selfish schemes, experiments and allowing Cletus to go around killing his rivals is only making the city’s crime rate worse. Especially when it was Fisk’s intention to purposely allow Kassady to induce fear into innocent people.
- Has his task force deport Kraven out of the country after he failed to kill Spider-Man.
- Attempts to murder Spider-Man during their fight.
- Lies to the mayor over the phone by claiming that he will reduce the crime in the city and even falsely claims to be “honoured” to help stop crime in the city.
- Pretty much every single bad thing that happened during the main campaign, is connected to Fisk whether directly or indirectly.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He is tragic, as he was forced to grow up in the crime ridden Hell’s Kitchen in which he witnessed crime his whole childhood and was always bullied by his peers. Though this is a minor prevention, as it is only mentioned in two lines of dialogue and even Spider-Man points out that Fisk’s childhood doesn’t give him the excuse to do everything he has done.
- He was genuinely kind and affable to Peter Parker and liking his bold character, to the point of defending him from one of his own men whom threatened Peter. Only becoming slightly ruder and more hostile to Peter when he starts to question and put words in Fisk’s mouth too much. He also displays genuine affability towards Chameleon. This is only a minor prevention however, considering we only see said nature in two cutscenes, while in the rest of his appearances he is portrayed as a ruthless criminal.
- He appears to have a genuine friendship with Chameleon even calling him a friend at one point. There is no implication that this is pragmatic, as he is never shown being treacherous or hostile towards him like with Kraven and Cletus.
