King Shadow is the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics) storylines Mobius 25 and 30 Years Later. In this alternate future, Shadow becomes a cruel tyrant, believing that the world can only be safe under his rule.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- After killing Eggman, he decides that the only way to “protect” the planet was to rule it, conquering the planet and ruling with an iron fist. This society stripped people of their freedom.
- He turns Lien-Da's Dark Legion into the Dark Presence who keep the peace by imprisoning, torturing, and killing anyone who oppose him.
- He captures Rotor and tortures him for information about the other timeline. He also brags about his torture of Cobar, presumably to death.
- He attempts to kill Sonic and attempted to do the same to Lara-Su.
- After escaping five years after his defeat, he unleashes Tikhaos onto the world as punishment for his imprisonment, intending for most of the world to be destroyed. This is made worse by the fact Tikal doesn’t want to hurt anyone, forcibly turned into Tikhaos against her will by Shadow via chaos energy.
- When Lien-Da objects to his plan, he destroys her tachyon armband that protected her from changes from the timeline, causing her to be either erased from existence or rewritten.
- While he claims to do this to protect the world, his actions only make things worse and his attempt to destroy most of the world when he loses shows that he is more delusional than anything, using the “It’s all about me” philosophy to damn others.
- Despite Archie Sonic's Heinous Standards, King Shadow stands out due his brutal regime, erasing someone from the timeline, and attempting to destroy most of the world.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He still cares for Maria, having her worshiped in his regime and apologising to her for what he believes he must do to the keep the world safe, still believing he is fulfilling her wish.

- King Shadow is the only Sonic Near Pure Evil to originate from the Light Mobius timeline.
