Same cocky little sh-t. So fearless; I wonder what you're really afraid of... not bullets, or blood, or broken bones. No, you get off on all this, don't you? Cheating death - or not. Mr. Sullivan, I won't harm your precious boy. I merely want what's mine.
~ Katherine Marlowe meeting Nathan Drake again.
Nathan! Drake. Are you worthy of the name? Earn this - as Francis earned it from Elizabeth. Prove your greatness.
~ Marlowe to Drake, moments before her death.

Katherine Marlowe is the main antagonist of the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception video game. She is the manipulative and sinister leader of The Order, a clandestine British society established four centuries ago by Queen Elizabeth I.

She was portrayed by Rosalind Ayres.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • After Nathan Drake took Sir Francis Drake's ring from her back when he was a teen, she slapped him hard in the face and ordered her men to chase and kill him to retrieve the ring, which didn't belong to her in the first place.
  • While in charge of The Order, a shady secret society, she ordered her men to assist her in searching for Iram of the Pillars to retrieve the Djinn and use it as a potent hallucinogenic agent to control society through fear.
  • She tried to kill anyone who stood in her way of achieving her goals.
  • In London, Nate and Sully meet with her right-hand man, Talbot, to exchange Sir Francis Drake's ring for a suitcase of money. Although they only agreed to participate in the deal to retrieve the cipher from her hideout, it is revealed that the suitcase was full of counterfeit money, suggesting that the goal was to scam them, which paints her as very untrustworthy.
  • She ordered Talbot to kill Nate and Sully in a fire instead of quickly shooting them while they were searching the French chateau for treasure clues. This action also resulted in a historical building being burned to the ground, revealing that she didn't care about the value of historical artifacts or the means to preserve them.
  • Talbot shot Charlie Cutter with a dart containing a hallucinogenic agent under her orders. This corrupted Charlie's mind, causing him to go crazy and distrust his group, which included Nate, Sully, and Chloe Frazer. He nearly choked Nate to death while under her brainwashing.
  • At the Syrian citadel, she coldly tries to kill Charlie in a fire as well following his betrayal, resulting in him breaking his leg while trying to escape from burning alive.
  • In Yemen, she ordered one of her men (presumably Talbot) to shoot Nate with a hallucinogenic dart, causing him to run around in confusion and endangering him by potentially acting irrationally. This ultimately led to her kidnapping Nate and coercing him to reveal that Sully had the location of Iram of the Pillars imprinted in his mind against his will.
  • After Nate was kidnapped by her and Talbot, she attempted to manipulate him into distrusting his best friend, Victor Sullivan, by claiming that Sully always acted in his own self-interest, which is ironic considering she herself does exactly that. Meanwhile, she also threatened to harm Nate's girlfriend, Elena Fisher, if necessary for leverage, despite Elena not being of interest to the Order, as Marlowe claims.
  • When Talbot informs her that Sully has been found, she tells Nate that he has outlived his usefulness, implying that she was going to kill him. Nate escapes by lunging at Talbot and chasing him down the Yemeni streets. During this, she orders a pirate named Rameses to capture Nate and kill him.
  • It later gets revealed that the power of the Djinn could potentially doom the world, leading to a fate worse than death, as the nomad Salim words it. Despite knowing this, she didn't care at all and still attempted to retrieve the brass vessel containing the Djinn from the depths of Iram, only to be stopped by Nate using a flare gun to make the ancient city collapse. This showcases how she only acts in her own favor and doesn't care about the negative consequences for others, as the Djinn could cause the world to fall apart and destroy society as a whole.
    • Nate even gets affected by the Djinn after drinking from Iram's fountain. The subsequent events highlight the powerful hallucinogenic effects of the Djinn and how it can corrupt minds to the extent of destroying an entire city.
  • Most of the time, when The Order attempted to kill Nate or the other heroes, it was under Talbot's commands. However, he was simply following her orders, making her responsible for the various threats and attacks that the main characters had to face (excluding Rameses and his pirates or the venomous spiders).
  • She is not as heinous as Zoran Lazarević or Asav, but she had fewer resources than they had and intended to use her resources in an almost equal powerful and sinister way.

What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • She seems to generally care about her right-hand man Talbot, as it is revealed that she raised him in a similar manner to how Sully raised Drake.
