Joo Dan Tae (In Korean: 주단태, Joo Dan Tae) is the main antagonist of the 2020 ~ 2021 South Korean television series The Penthouse: War in Life. He is the chairman of JKING Holdings and Cheong-A Group. He is the Sadistic archenemy of Shim Su Ryeon. His real name is Baek Jun Ki (In Korean: 백준기, Baek Jun Ki), and in the public he is better known by the fake name Joo Dan Tae.
He was portrayed by Uhm Ki-Joon (who also portrayed Min Ho Cha in Innocent Defendant), while his younger self was portrayed by Yang Hee-yeon.

Season 1[]
- In the past, he hired terrorists to murder Su Ryeon Shim's ex-husband, and cut off his ex-husband's finger and put it in his penthouse.
- He enjoyed an affair with Seojin Cheon over his wife, Su Ryeon Shim.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Despite how vile and heinous he may be in the Penthouse franchise, these two qualities make him genuinely sympathetic.
- While his tragedy is invalid, he still genuinely loves of his mother and sister Baek Jun Hee. the reason he tried to build Joo Dan Tae Village was to relieve his mother and younger sister's resentment. and he did not need to secure the Cheonsu district so far to satisfy his greed, but he was trying to raise the value of the Cheonsu district somehow and also had the purpose of building a memorial to his mother in the Cheonsu district. No matter how horrible, despicable, power-hungry, megalomaniacal or sadistic he may have become, His love for his mother never subverted.
- He genuinely love and cared for his childhood girlfriend, Na Ae Gyo. When he learned that he had killed Na Ae Gyo, not Shim Su-Ryeon, and when he learned that Ae Gyo Na was really dead, he was genuinely heartbroken and desperate. - His early Netflix script wasn't Near Pure Evil, but rather his archenemy Shim Su Ryeon's early script is similar to his current one. If the Penthouse series aired according to his earlier script his, he would n't be Near Pure Evil.
- The reason he is called Baek Jun Ki by his real name and not by his fake name Joo Dan Tae on this wiki is because the real Joo Dan Tae fails to the heinous standards.
