Jervis Tetch is a major antagonist in Gotham. He is a sadistic hypnotist who has a disturbing obsession with his sister Alice Tetch. Following Alice's death, Tetch wants to slowly ruin Jim Gordon's life and joins forces with Jerome Valeska to assist him in his goals.
He was portrayed by Benedict Samuel, who also played Owen in The Walking Dead.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- In the past, he mentally and sexually abused his sister.
- He hypnotized his victims to commit crimes and to harm or kill themselves.
- He continued to murder people all over Gotham to provoke Jim Gordon.
- He forced Jim Gordon into a situation where he had to choose if he loved Leslie Thompkins or Valerie Vale. He shot Valerie in response to torment Jim Gordon.
- He injected Jim Gordon with his sister's tainted blood. He intended on using her blood to wreak havoc across the city.
- Although he was not successful in this goal, the tainted blood that he had a hand in making eventually got into the hands of Hugo Strange and the Court of Owls. They were successful in unleashing a modified version of her tainted blood called the Tetch Virus upon Gotham nearly destroying the city.
- He hypnotizes hundreds of people to stand on top of skyscrapers across Gotham intending for them to jump off the buildings.
- He assists Jerome Valeska in his plan to try and unleash his laughing gas on the city.
- He assists Jeremiah Valeska in his plan to hypnotize Alfred and two people who looks like Bruce Wayne's parents. Tetch assists Jeremiah in his plan to spread chemicals across the city.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He cries and express visible distress over seeing his sister die. Despite being obsessed with her, abused her, and put her in a dangerous situation which led to her death, he was deeply upset that she died. Although he takes no responsibility for her death and puts all the blame on Jim, he was upset at what happened.
