Janet McCardle is the main antagonist of the Black Mirror episode "Loch Henry". She is the mother of Davis and wife of Kenneth. Originally presenting as a sweet and kind women, she is revealed to be a former serial killer, serial rapist and sadomasochist.
She is played by Monica Dolan.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- It’s implied that, with her husband, she can be violent during their fling nights with Stuart’s father Richard.
- Along with her husband, works with Iain Adair to kidnap tourists, and they film themselves torturing, raping and murdering them, killing up to 8 people this way through the years, while keeping photos and tapes for their own sadistic relief.
- After Kenny’s death, she shows zero remorse and sadness for her crimes, even reminiscing the horrendous actions when she is about to commit suicide.
- It is implied she took part on Davis’ documentary in order to further incriminate Iain Adair to keep herself out of the law’s eyes.
- Attempted to track down and murder Pia, Davis’ girlfriend, in order to hide any information of her crimes and when Janet loses her and believes she’s gonna get arrested (although Pia accidentally was killed falling into a ravine), she commits suicide to avoid facing justice for her actions.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She genuinely loves her family, as she felt genuine sadness towards Kenny’s death, to the point of keeping photos around of their relationship. She also shows deep care and affection to her son Davis as even when she was about to commit suicide, she gave all the tapes revealing her crimes for Davis, leaving a note for him to finish his own film, wanting to boost his career.
