I control the most powerful Pokémon in the world! Why would I want to give something that valuable...to the boss? (Jessie: What do you mean?) Now the boss has to be afraid of me, because Celebi gives me the power to destroy him! With Celebi, I can rule Team Rocket and the whole world, if I want to!
~ Iron-Masked Marauder revealing his plans.
CELEBI, DESTROY THEM!
~ Iron-Masked Marauder's villainous breakdown, crossing the moral event horizon as he once again tries to kill Ash and Sam by ordering Celebi to destroy the boys out of fury.
Now it's my chance to capture a Suicune too.
~ Iron-Masked Marauder when seeing Suicune.

The Iron Masked Marauder is the main antagonist of the 2001 film Pokémon 4Ever. The Iron-Masked Marauder is an Elite Officer of Team Rocket who plans to capture Celebi so he can usurp and destroy Giovanni and take over the world but also planning to capture Suicune too.

He was voiced by Dan Green in the English dub while he was voiced by Shirō Sano in the original Japanese.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Harasses a poacher for information, brainwashes the poacher's Pokémon and destroys the poacher's camp even when he helps him.
  • Uses his "Dark Poké Balls" to make other trainers' Pokémon more evil and powerful.
    • Celebi is shown resisting and eventually overcoming the brainwashing, confirming the brainwashing to be an "And I must scream" fate.
  • Tortures Celebi by electrocuting it extensively before capture it.
  • Causes Ash to black out by stomping on his fingers to get his Dark Ball back.
  • Callously admits that he is planning to overthrow and kill Giovanni with Celebi and take over the world and Team Rocket.
  • Tries to use Celebi and Tyranitar to destroy the forest and taking sadistic pleasure doing it.
  • When seeing one of the Three Legendary Beasts, Suicune arrived, Iron-Masked Marauder attempted to capture the Aurora Pokemon just so he would be more powerful. He had Celebi torturing Suicune before he would have catch the Legendary Beast with a Dark Ball but foiled when Celebi regained its sense.
  • He orders Celebi to kill Ash and his friends for getting in his way and ruining his plans, and brutally tries to kick Ash off of him from hundreds of feet in the air. Almost leaving Ash to fall to his serious death.
  • Is responsible for Celebi's death.
  • He realize that Ash and Sam are trying to get Celebi back by telling it to remember all the good times they had. He crosses the moral event horizon by furiously demanded Celebi to destroy them out of blind fury. (Much to Jessie's shock and horror about his dark cruel murder towards Ash). Even Jessie, James, and Meowth wouldn't go that far despite Ash and his friends being their enemies and blasting them off hundreds of times throughout the series and movies.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he has fewer resources than Cyrus, Lysandre, Alva and Zero, and therefore, does not fail the standards to them, he does have similar resources to Hunter J and Grings Kodai, so he fails the in-story standard to those two, even though he predates them.

Trivia[]

  • The Iron-Masked Marauder was one of the most dangerous villains in the Pokémon franchise, as he is among the most evil, greedy, cruel, egotistical, tyrannical, treacherous, obsessed and powerful characters. His abuse to both humans and Pokémon leads him to be Near Pure Evil of his cruelty and far more evil than Giovanni because of his plan to use Celebi's powers to overthrow and destroy him so that he can rule the entire world and Team Rocket for himself.
  • His threat to kill Giovanni is only in the English dub. In the original Japanese, he only says he won't be tied down to Team Rocket any longer.
