Irene Sorenson also known as Jill the Ripper, is the main antagonist of 2000 movie Jill Rips, which was based on a 1987 novel by Scottish writer Frederic Lindsay. A mysterious and enigmatic serial killer who was active in 1970s San Francisco. She would dress as a dominatrix in a red leather gimp suit and target men who she had a personal grudge against. At the end of the film, it is revealed that her real identity is Irene, the disgruntled wife of one of her previous victims.
She was portrayed by Danielle Brett.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She killed her husband, Michael Sorenson, as revenge for making her feel humiliated and ashamed, and although this murder can be considered fair to some extent, since it was his fault, but she killed Michael, probably after she got tired of him in sadomasochistic games, which she, already at that time, received excited acts. Accordingly, she simply used her husband as a satisfaction of her already perverted desires (it is also worth noting that she killed him only 6 months later).
- She is believed to have killed a dozen men, including Michael's friends, prior to the events of the film.
- She is a psychopath, as she has no empathy for people, and is a (twisted) sadist, who tends to manipulate people with her seduction, and constantly wants to get herself a reward. Although she had a genuine connection with her husband, it has since disappeared when she got tired of him, killing him.
- She is suspected of not only having antisocial personality disorder but also narcissistic personality disorder based on her dominatrix behavior and what she considers within herself to be some kind of righteousness.
- She also kidnapped innocent people if they were simply unlucky enough to meet her (and she killed them just like that, without even justifying herself).
- She killed at least six men in the film (one of them was her husband).
- She pestered Matt several times, trying to seduce him so she could do her dirty work later.
- She sadistically tortured Matt when she forced him into her room before taking out knife and tried to kill him.
- She also attempted to kill Matt's partner and friend Eddie when he entered her room, exposing her.
- Ultimately, her death is completely deserved and fulfilling, because although she had a tragedy, it was no longer genuine, since she killed men, some of whom were not at all to blame for her tragedy, for her own perverted and sadistic pleasure, even before and after her husband's death. Moreover, she had a choice: to become a perverted serial killer or to remain a normal woman, despite the sexual humiliation, and leave her husband. She ultimately chose the former, and accordingly, this tragedy can no longer arouse sympathy for her.
- And when she even talks about her backstory, she talks in such a way as to make it seem like it justifies all her vile actions, which makes this tragedy be exaggerated in order to justify all that, so that she can continue her vile actions.
- She is not crazy, by the way, since she is fully aware of what she is doing, clearly understands what is bad and what is not and has the ability to choose, which makes her a psychopath.
- Irene, having discovered that she actually liked to dominate men, and having become addicted to murder, decided to expand the circle of her victims, whom she considered prone to violence against women, which automatically makes her a hypocrite, since the film showed many women who were vulgar and dressed dissolutely to attract the attention of men, and accordingly, they were ready to sell their bodies for money, but despite this, she seemed to deliberately not notice this, continuing to blame men for everything.
- And that's not to mention that she herself worked in a S&M club where women were and behaved quite vulgarly, including herself, which makes her a big hypocrite.
- In the end, Irene became, in fact, much worse and more terrible than her husband, showing herself to be a completely apathetic, sadistic and perverted serial killer, doing everything for her dirty pleasure.
- And because of that, she's actually a much bigger hypocrite than she already is.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Her supposed dozens of victims were off-screen villainy that didn't really impact the plot, as her active investigation only began when Matt began looking for whoever killed his brother Michael. However, she is completely sadistic and perverted, making this a minor prevention.
