Infinite is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Dr. Eggman) of the YouTube fanfic Sonic Forces: REWRITTEN made by Charriii5. He, similarly to his canon counterpart, was originally a mercenary and was the leader of The Jackal Squad, a mercenary group who tried to rob Eggman’s base before being forced to work for him.
After his failure to kill Shadow the Hedgehog and his squad leaving him, Zero dawns a mask and new identity known as Infinite and uses the power of the Phantom Ruby to help Eggman conquer the world.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He shares a few of the crimes that he’s original counterpart committed, such as:
- Attacking Eggman’s base in order to steal his technology and sell it before joining him.
- Breaking Omega down and trying to kill Shadow.
- Being the main reason that Eggman was able to take over most of the world.
- After touching the Phantom Ruby (which shows the person’s innermost desires when touched), a vision appears in front of everyone showing a destroyed city resembling Sunset Heights with a monument of Zero saying “Captain Zero The Ultimate Mercenary” which genuinely horrified the Jackal Squad.
- He intends go even further than this however, as it's also stated that cities like Spagonia are also in ruins, and due to Infinite being the main reason why Eggman took over the world with his powers to create not just copies of Sonic's past enemies, but also Eggman's machinery, he is responsible of destruction of at least two cities, if not more if anything that Sonic says to the Avatar while they are escaping Null Space is any indication.
- He trapped Sonic inside Null Space, which not only lead to Eggman taking over the world, but also Sonic nearly giving up on trying to escape before the Avatar showed up.
- It should also be noted that if the Avatar didn't find the Phantom Ruby copy before being sucked up, Sonic and the Avatar would not be able to find the Chaos Emerald and escape Null Space and would be stuck in a Fate Worse Than Death.
- He enhances Omega with the Power of the Phantom Ruby and gets him to try to kill Shadow and Rouge and after failing, creates an army of Shadow clones to kill the three of them.
- He is directly responsible for G.U.N getting dissolved by creating copies of their solders and technology, making it difficult to tell who was friend and who foe, which left the G.U.N Commander emotionally scarred to the point he tried to shoot Shadow, Rouge and Omega out of paranoia before realizing that they were real.
- He tried to kill Team Dark again at Metropolis.
- He attempted to trap Tails and Knuckles in Null Space and while he failed to capture them, he succeeded in capturing the Avatar.
- He and Eggman hid one of the Chaos Emeralds in Null space to prevent the Resistance from stopping them.
- He and Eggman threaten to use the Eclipse Cannon to destroy the world if Sonic and the Resistance were to go through with there plan to use the Eclipse Cannon to destroy the Death Egg with nothing suggesting that he was lying.
- He sends Team Sonic to Null Space and tries to kill them one final time.
- While he used to care about the Jackal Squad, he subverted it by blaming them for abandoning him and saying that friendship is meaningless.
- Much like his canon counterpart, he has no redeeming qualities (until his defeat, anyway) or comedic moments and is consistently portrayed as more despicable than Eggman himself.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- His defeat, while well-deserved, is played for sympathy, as while he stated earlier that friendship was meaningless, he realized in his final moments that he truly is worthless without friends after all, breaking a tear and referring to himself as “worthless ‘till the very end” before disappearing.
