~ Zakhaev's threat following his son Victor's death. |
Imran Zakhaev (Russian: Имран Захаев) is the overarching antagonist of the Call of Duty franchise's original Modern Warfare sub-series.
He serves as the main antagonist of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (including its 2016 remaster), the posthumous overarching antagonist of Modern Warfare 2 (including its 2020 remaster) and one of the two posthumous overarching antagonists (alongside General Shepherd) of Modern Warfare 3.
Originally a Russian arms dealer, Zakhaev became the founder and chairman of the Russian Ultranationalists, a militant and political faction seeking to restore Russia to the days of the Soviet Union. On his quest, Zakhaev had instigated conflict around the world and aligned himself with numerous terrorist organizations in his quest for Russia's restoration. He is the father of Victor Zakhaev and mentor of Vladimir Makarov.
He was voiced by the late Yevgeni Lazarev.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Back when he was a crime lord, attempted to deal in Chernobyl regarding nuclear materials, for money.
- He leads the Ultranationalists to a civil war with Russia in an attempt to restore the country's power to the Soviet Union era, likely at the cost of hundreds of innocent lives.
- He allies himself with Middle Eastern warlord Khaled Al-Asad to start a military coup against President Al-Fulani, who is kidnapped and executed publicly on television, even handing over the gun to Al-Asad himself so he can execute Al-Fulani. This is to distract the West from the civil war that is going on in Russia.
- Provided Al-Asad with the nuclear bomb used to destroy the capital.
- He warns the United States and British forces who are in Russia, that they will suffer consequences if they do not leave. He launches multiple nuclear warheads against the United States, which would've killed 41,096,749 people.
- He attempts to kill all of the USMC and SAS forces as they flee from the nuclear launch site, successfully killing some (Griggs and Gaz), and wounding Price and Soap.
- Even after his death, Zakhaev's apprentice, Vladimir Makarov, took over the Ultranationalist and he is even worse than Zakhaev himself.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He cares for his son, Victor, as he was mourning him after he died, and his death was the reason why he launched the nuclear warheads against the United States even though it's only a minor prevention since he attempted to murder all of the Residents of the eastern United States.
- Gave Yuri and Makarov greater power in reward for saving him in Chernobyl.
- Kept Makarov and his more heinous ideas in check while he was alive, showing that he had some standards and did not approve of Makarov’s cruelty despite favoring him.
