"Mature Content Warning!" |
HoovyDundy is the titular main antagonist of the two-part animated web series of the same name. He is a monstrous and twisted version of the famous Team Fortress 2 character Heavy who remorselessly kills and mutilates the members of the BLU team one by one as revenge for the way his own team died, losing more of his humanity and growing progressively more powerful with the removal of each knife stuck into his back.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He attempts to murder BLU Sniper during their encounter outside of the BLU team's base.
- He murders BLU Demoman and BLU Pyro and hangs their body parts from the ceiling of the intelligence building, a horrific enough sight that it traumatizes BLU Spy after he goes to investigate.
- He nearly murders Spy, picking him up and choking the air out of him before eventually setting him down.
- Hijacks the respawning machines so that none of the mercenaries, RED or BLU, can ever respawn after they've been killed. He also leaves a nasty surprise for RED Engineer and RED Soldier to find when they click on a blank tilde on their respawner's interface, causing it to glitch out before showing a barrage of terrifying images, utterly terrifying the both of them, particularly Soldier.
- When he goes into the sewer, he murders BLU Engineer in the same fashion as Demo and Pyro, luring BLU Scout in to investigate and traumatizing him the same way as Spy when he sees Engie's remains.
- In what's treated as the video's most tragic scene, he murders BLU Scout in a uniquely terrible fashion, sticking knives all over his body and tying him to a chair inside the BLU team base as retribution for his act of removing a knife from HoovyDundy's own body, which had momentarily stunned him and allowed the Scout to escape from the sewer. This causes Scout to die very slowly and painfully instead of relatively quickly like the other members. Had Spy not shown up to talk to Scout, he would have also died alone.
- He remorselessly taunts Scout about how he'll leave all the mercenaries permanently dead thanks to his destruction of the respawning machines, definitively establishing he has a personality.
- During his encounter with BLU Spy, BLU Medic, and BLU Heavy on the bridge, he slams his fists into the ground to cause the bridge to start falling apart, sending a broken plank into Heavy's leg and critically wounding him.
- He attempts grabbing Medic with his tendrils twice, first when the trio is making their escape from the bridge and again when they're running into the empty building ahead of them. On his second attempt, he succeeds and brutally murders the Medic.
- He's shown with numerous more kills in the trailer for the unreleased third part of the series, all of which were killed in his standard fashion.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- HoovyDundy's backstory shows up in flashes on the RED team's broken monitor, revealing that his team was killed rather brutally and that he mourned over the death of at least one of them (the Medic), making him a caring individual and left unsubverted.
Trivia[]
- Because a third part was advertised in 2018 by series creator Pree Spunky but never released, it's possible that if the video ever does come out that HoovyDundy will be given more redeeming/mitigating qualities and/or that other characters might be more heinous than originally presumed, and that HoovyDundy might not truly be NPE as a result.
- The most popular theory that Pree Spunky generally seems to favor over other fan theories is that HoovyDundy was once a very kind-hearted and merciful RED Heavy who was constantly abused and murdered by the opposing team until they actively sabotaged the respawn machines so that they could permanently kill him and all of his teammates off in horrific fashion, sending him into a downward spiral of villainy and transforming him into a Freak as a result. However, not only is this merely Approval of God, but it's never even been explicitly confirmed by Pree Spunky that this theory is true, and therefore it is currently having no effect on HoovyDundy's moral standing as NPE.
