Mr. Hideki Sohta is the overarching antagonist of the RPG maker horror game Misao. He is the former teacher of Aki's class. He was born December 6, 1986. He's seen on the outside as a reliable and suave teacher. But he's really a murderer with a dark past.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- In the past, after learning that his only friend, Takano, befriended him out of pity after she rejected his love confession, he pinned her to the ground. Though it is unclear whether he was attacking her or trying to rape her, either one is heinous regardless. It is even implied he killed her at some point afterward.
- He made sexual advances on Misao after she came to him to talk about her bullying at the hands of her fellow students.
- After Misao rejected him, he flew into a rage and raped and murdered her, inadvertently causing the horrific events of the game proper, and dismembered her, hiding her body parts in separate sections of the school. This has a lingering effect on her long after her death, as the reason why the spirits never target him is because she is still scared of him.
- Kills Ayaka when she finds Misao's severed hands in his drawer, simply to tie up loose ends.
- In the bad ending, if Aki chooses to spare Sohta and sacrifice Tohma, Sohta kills Aki without any remorse to silence her. He is then seen comforting a student named Miho, with the implication that he will likely go on to seduce or kill her in the future.
- His crimes are bad enough that when he is reincarnated in the Truth scenario, he comes back as a cat rather than a human baby like the others, largely because he never displays any remorse. The implication is that he is beyond redemption, unlike the others.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has a tragic backstory that is played for sympathy, and it results in him gaining sympathetic insecurities. He was bullied in high school for his ugly looks, leading to Takano befriending him out of pity. When she rejects him and admits this to him, he is cut up by the whole ordeal, and later on, he ends up getting plastic surgery to become handsome. However, when he noticed people's opinions of him beginning to change, he worried that they only liked his face, not him, which led to him becoming insecure
- He genuinely cared for an injured cat that he found in the past, and tried to take it to a veterinarian only to be told that it was beyond saving.
