ā€œ So you think you found Hemlock at last, eh? ...Did he ever tell you his number one pet peeve? Cos you know you went and did it, right? You went and did the one thing to piss him off... YOU HUNG UP ON ME, NICKY. ā€ž
~ Hemlock revealing himself

Hemlock is the main antagonist of the Ace Attorney fangame Ace Attorney: Contempt of Court. Debuting as a seemingly aloof detective by the name of Robert Snow, he in reality is a delusional leader of Aculeus that intended to take the Enigmium. He's a corrupt leader that intended to do anything to achieve "his happiness".

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He kills many people, innocent or guilty, purely for the purpose of benefitting himself in some way.
  • He forces members of law enforcement to turn corrupt under threats of killing them or others close to them. He even forces a detective to participate in the gruesome assult of his best friend and take the fall for said assault.
  • He calls his accomplice, Renwick Smith, to gloat about his control over him, breaking the man by forcing him to watch as he murders innocents, knowing that Renwick is slowly being overcome with guilt and absolutely powerless to do anything about it.
  • He has no loyalty whatsoever, killing his own conspirators when they cease to fit in to his schemes.
  • He uses his position as a detective to spy on the police, sabotaging cases that have anything to do with him.
  • He murders a criminal and a police officer, pinning the crimes on another murderer. He has Phoenix Wright get him an unjust not guilty verdict for these crimes.
  • He beats a man half to death for the purpose of stealing the enigmium, even calling the ambulance and framing his unwilling accomplice (who is best friends with Brisbane, the victim) purely out of sadism.
  • He makes threatening calls to Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth to not only taunt them, but to create a kangaroo court that he can slip away from during the inevitable chaos.
  • When Phoenix Wright becomes aware of Snow's true identity, he threatens to burn down Maya's residence and pin the crime on him.
  • When the trial doesn't go his way, he has his men hold the entire courtroom at gunpoint, threatening to kill everyone if anyone tries to resist. This includes his own men, as Snow was truly willing to murder them all, only being prevented from doing so by a typo in his detonations.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has some mild sanity issues. While he knows what is right and wrong, his mind is so utterly warped that he geniunely believes that he's entitled to kill those that get in his way if it furthers his own happiness. He has a near childlike view on the world, as he's so delusional it raises questions about just how accountable he is for some of his actions. He's a sadist who enjoys what he does though, so this is a much milder prevention factor than it may originally appear.
