His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Even in his younger days, Hecarim's obsession with glory also presented a growing darkness within him. He was furious when he was told that he was unfit to be his knight-commander's successor.
- Hecarim restrained his anger until one day his commander was surrounded by enemies. Hecarim took his chance and left him to die, and became the new commander of the Iron Order due to hiding what he had done.
- He took King Viego's orders to quell nations whom he believed would take his dying wife Isolde away from him. Instead, Hecarim led genocides on those nations, gaining a reputation as the king's brutal enforcers.
- After Isolde succumbed to the poison, Hecarim manipulated Viego by souring his grief into hatred, promising to avenge Isolde's death but actually seeking more dark renown for himself. Hecarim caused Viego to become insane to the point of imprisoning his own niece Kalista as a traitor just for being unable to find the cure on time.
- He visited Kalista's cell and manipulated her into giving him the directions to the source of the cure she found, which in turn led to Camavor's invasion of the Blessed Isles.
- When Kalista refused to kill the people of the Blessed Isles under Viego's order, Hecarim killed her by impaling her with his spear alongside his knights. When her lover, Commander Ledros, tried to intervene, Hecarim and his knights killed him too. Upon their revivals, Hecarim's actions caused Kalista becoming a spirit of vengeance and Ledros carrying the guilt of being unable to save her for years.
- Hecarim got the Iron Order to ransack the Blessed Isles' treasures, all while they sadistically slaughtered the townsfolk. Hecarim enjoyed bloodshed so much that he was taken by surprise when the Ruination began.
- Even after being turned into a wraith by the Black Mist, Hecarim is still obsessed with slaughter and rallies his knights to kill any living people who enter the Shadow Isles.
- In the story "The Despoiler of Havenfall", Hecarim met a Demacian named Jonath, made him his squire and gave him a ghostly steed, all just so he could make Jonath witness the slaughter that Hecarim and his knights brought upon his home town before killing him as well.
- He gave Jonath his horse by ripping off the top half of one of his knights. He says that he will be back for him, but it's been shown that he no longer remembers the Iron Order knights and sees them as nothing more than members of his army.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He fails the heinous standards compared to other villains who commit more depraved crimes than him, who either torture their victims (like Singed and Thresh), or see more significance in murder (such as Jhin).
