Tighten has declared this article is to be renamed to
"Godzilla (GMK)" for the following reasons:
Way better and shorter name.
"It's Tighten, not Hal!"

Hirotoshi Isayama: This animal contains the restless souls of the countless people who perished during the terrible battles that took place during the Pacific conflict.
Yuri Tachibana: Their souls? In Godzilla?
Hirotoshi Isayama: In Godzilla, the souls of all those people have combined to bring life to the monster. Believe me, I have tried to warn people but they refused to listen. They think I'm mad.
Yuri Tachibana: But tell me, why does Godzilla keep attacking Japan? Why does it want to destroy us?
Hirotoshi Isayama: Because the Japanese people want to forget what happened... They have deemed it preferable to forget the pain and agony they inflicted on all those people!
~ Hirotoshi Isayama discusses to Yuri Tachibana the reason why Godzilla has come to destroy Japan out of revenge.

Godzilla (ゴジラ, Gojira) is the titular main antagonist of Toho's 2001 kaiju film Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack.

He was a large supernatural kaiju who emerged 50 years after the first Godzilla in 1954. Unlike his predecessor however, this Godzilla was created by the restless souls who were killed during the Pacific War, and filled with an immense thirst for vengeance against Japan for forgetting and ignoring its imperial past. Opposing him and his vengeful quest are the three Guardian Monsters of Japan, along with the nation's Self-Defense Forces.

This incarnation of Godzilla has seldom appeared in non-film media since then, likely due to his unique origins and utter malevolence, although he did have an outsized influence on Toho's latest entry, Godzilla Minus One.

He was portrayed by Mizuho Yoshida by suitmation.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • In general, he is an outright sadistic and malevolent entity who gained immense enjoyment out of the destruction he caused and took great pride in bullying the weaker Guardian Monsters and killing them in brutal ways, making him having the lackluster the redeeming qualities his other incarnations have.
  • He planned on destroying and wiping out all of Japan as immense revenge for their heinous crimes during World War II.
  • He attacked and destroyed Magonoté in the Bonin Islands, which left a survivor traumatized and hospitalized. Later, when he arrived near the hospital she is in (which made her freak out) he pretended to spare her only to kill her seconds later by slamming his tail into the building.
  • During the beginning of his attack on Japan, he smiled evilly before firing his atomic breath onto a group of terrified citizens evacuating.
  • Before his fight with Baragon at Hakone, he killed a bunch of tourists (who were taking pictures of the latter) by causing an avalanche and crushing them.
  • He sadistically tormented Baragon by kicking him to the ground and hitting him with his tail when he tried to get higher ground while also causing him to crash into a helicopter with news reporters in it. He then proceeded to blow Baragon to smithereens with his atomic breath and continue unimpeeded.
  • He destroyed several jets throughout the film.
  • When Mothra tried to help King Ghidorah, he battered her with a tail swing.
  • He wiped out a bunch of military soldiers after they shot D-03 missiles into him.
  • He killed Ghidorah and Mothra (though he latter managed to revive the former with her life force).
  • During his and Ghidorah’s rematch underwater, he used the latter as a shield against a D-03 torpedo.
  • He let out an evil chuckle before killing and blowing up Ghidorah to pieces with his empowered atomic breath.
  • He spitefully tried to kill Yuri Tachibana and Mitsuaki Takeda with his atomic breath, only to blow himself up because Yuri's father, Taizo Tachibana, drilled through his shoulder wound.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Despite his sadism and intelligence, he had moral agency issues, as he is technically an amalgamation of a member of Godzilla's species and souls of the slain people during the Pacific War.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only incarnation of Godzilla to be Near Pure Evil, as his other incarnations have less characterization, are on-&-off, and/or have many redeeming qualities.
    • However, while he is the only incarnation of Godzilla to be Near Pure Evil, it is rumored that his influence with the movie Godzilla Minus One suggested that his Minus One incarnation would be a possible NPE proposal (and his next NPE incarnation) in the future.
  • Him and the Showa version of Godzilla can be seen as morally opposite due to the latter being Near Pure Good.
