Gigantomachia (in Japanese: ギガントマキア, Gigantomakia) is a major antagonist in the My Hero Academia franchise. A gigantic, nigh-unstoppable member of the League of Villains, he is a loyal servant and bodyguard of All For One and, later on, Tomura Shigaraki.

He is voiced by Yasuhiro Mamiya in the Japanese version and Cris George in the English dubbed version.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Threatened two girls who ask him about where Springer's Hero Office is by crumbling a building with his bare hands.
  • He injured Gran Torino and Naomasa, who are both elderly people. While directly not shown, it is heavily implied that he killed officers of the task force who were with them.
  • Incapacitated Himiko Toga, Twice and Mr. Compress.
  • Severely injured Mt Lady while she was trying to hold him off to the point she ended up with a scar on her eyelid.
  • Almost crushed Mina with his hand, but she was saved by Kirishima.
  • Attempted to crush Kirishima, but was stopped by Tokage.
  • He went on a rampage just to get to his master quickly by activating his Quirk: Mole and bashing through twenty cities in one hour, killing thousands of innocent civilians.
  • His rampage caused the deaths of many Pro Heroes, one being Enma, and had the Pro Hero not used his Quirk to save the U.A students at the last minute, they would have all been killed.
  • He crashed through a nearby medical camp and nearly killed the medics, Tokoyami and an injured Hawks, though luckily they were safe from the calamity.
  • Interrupted Shoto and Nejire's attempts to finish off Tomura Shigaraki and end the war.
  • His rampage has left Japan in a state of complete disarray, to the point where many civilians were homeless , some without their loved ones, they started to blame the Pro Heroes for what they'd done (even though the situation was way beyond their control) and has made the relationship between the Heroes and the society worse.
  • While he does turn on All For One once realizing he doesn’t care for him, it isn’t a redemption as he only teams up with the heroes for personal revenge rather than actual remorse/ regretting his actions.
  • Although him having a very simple-minded personality due to the amount of Quirks stored up in his body may indicate he has moral agency issues, there is no confirmation that this is the case and he is shown to be capable of thinking for himself, as shown when he refused to accept Tomura Shigaraki as All For One's successor (even if he was very upset about it) and turned against All For One upon realizing his master sees him as nothing more than a pawn.
  • While his low intelligence can lead to a few comedic moments, such as him crying over Shigaraki being a "weak" successor or when he hears All For One's voice on his radio and immediately hugs it and starts purring like a cat, they don't detract from his villainy at all.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He is seemingly loyal to Tomura Shigaraki and his fellow League members, repeatedly stating "everything is for my master", breaking into tears at the sight of Shigaraki's power in his fight against Re-Destro and saving the League from falling to their deaths.
  • He has a Pet the Dog moment after Mina gave him (false) directions to Springer's office, as he genuinely thanked her and left her and her friends unharmed.

Trivia[]

  • Gigantomachia might have the highest body count compared to other My Hero Academia Near Pure Evils, given he has a total of thousands killed during his rampage.
