NOTE: This article is specifically about the Legends version of General Grievous, though C and T-Canon are treated in composite format due to contradicting each other. |

His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
G and C-Canon[]
- Revealed himself publicly to the Republic and Jedi by wiping out Jedi master Barek and his entire Republic army on Hypori. He later killed 3 out of the 6 Jedi survivors, including Barek's padawan who he crushed to death when tried to avenge his master, and severely injured Jedi council member Shaak Ti and master Aayla Secura.
- Launched a Separatist invasion of the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk but left to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine on Coruscant.
- Launches an invasion of Coruscant and captures Chancellor Palpatine.
- During the Battle of Coruscant, he sent squadrons of Vulture droids on numerous suicide missions to kill hundreds of civilians and terrorize the city and he killed the four Jedi protectors of the Chancellor before kidnapping him.
T-Canon[]
- Captures Anakin and Obi-Wan and once they overpower him, he escapes and launches every escape pod to leave them and his crew to die.
- Captures the planet of Utapau and nearly succeeds in killing Obi-Wan Kenobi before his infamous death.
- He's not truly loyal to Dooku, stating twice that he doesn't care about his politics and only serves him out of his own benefit. This is also proven by the above action of unleashing bioweapons on Loedorvia without permission from Dooku or anyone, which Dooku was not happy about.
- Kills Jedi master Ur Sema and entire clone trooper companies at the Battle of Geonosis to ensure no one was alive to tell of his existence.
- Invades the planet Nadiem not because it had any strategic value but because the Republic chose to defend it.
- Once he defeated Asajj Ventress and Durge in a duel, he asked Dooku if he could kill them but Dooku refused.
- Uses the superweapon ship Malevolence to wipe out entire Republic fleets, killing thousands.
- Destroys an entire Republic medical convoy.
- Targeted a medical facility treating over 60,000 clones, even getting mad at his navigation computer when it informs him that the only way to get there was long and would provide time for some clones to escape as he wanted to "maximise casualties".
- Destroys the medical frigates fleeing the medical station to escape from him.
- Destroys most of Skywalker's squadron even though his own droids got killed in the process.
- Captures Padme Amidala as a hostage to escape from the Republic.
- Tries to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi and beats up a droid when Obi-Wan escapes.
- Abandons his entire crew to die to save himself by escaping the Malevolence.
- Has his spy droid R3-S6 infiltrate the Republic and become Anakin's new droid.
- Ambushes Anakin Skywalker and tries to kill him, beating up a droid when Ahsoka rescues Anakin.
- Kills Gha Nachkt when he tries to change his deal with Grievous to demand more money.
- While he did congratulate Gha Nachkt earlier for finding out useful information from R2-D2, and said he earned his payment, it was likely manipulative, and if it wasn't, Grievous subverted any respect he had for Gha Nachkt when he killed the Trandoshan.
- Wipes out most of Ahsoka Tano's clone squad and tries to kill an unconscious Captain Rex.
- Tries to strangle Ahsoka Tano despite her just being a teenager.
- Has a castle where he holds trophies of all the Jedi he has killed, including lightsabers and Padawan braids.
- Traps Kit Fisto, Nahdar Vebb, and their clone squad in his castle and uses various traps and later his pet Gor to kill the entire clone squad.
- Murders Nahdar Vebb and took his lightsaber to add to his collection.
- Conquers the planet Felucia and forces the Republic to retreat.
- Ambushes Jedi Masters' Eeth Koth's ship, killing dozens of troops and capturing the Jedi Master, proceeding to broadcast to the Jedi Council just to sadistically torture Eeth Koth and brag that his death would be slow.
- Destroys the Republic ship to prevent the Jedi from escaping and to kill Kenobi who barely gets saved by Adi Gallia.
- Launches a surprise attack on Kamino with Asajj Ventress, sacrificing many of his own transports to break through the Republic fleet and orders his troops to take no prisoners and kill everyone on the planet.
- Although he "compliments" Asajj Ventress, it was only sadistic admiration of the way she brutally killed Commander Colt.
- Disarms Kenobi and nearly succeeds in killing him.
- Sabotaged the Republic-Separatist peace process by having his demolition droids blow up the Republic power generator, causing mass riots and destroying any chance of peace, prolonging the war and indirectly causing millions of more deaths.

- Attacks Obi-Wan Kenobi’s command ship and forces him to destroy it.
- Captures and destroys Hondo Ohnaka’s base and tries to kill Ahsoka Tano and the Ked younglings.
- Captured numerous Republic planets and convinced the Togorian race to defect to the Separatists.
- Launched Operation Durge’s Lance to successfully capture hundreds of Core Worlds planets and strike fear in Republic citizens. This was arguably him at his most brutal during the war, causing the deaths of billions of innocent civilians.
- He rendered the planet Duro uninhabitable.
- He bombarded the planet Humbarine for an hour, melting the planet’s crust and destroying the planet wide city, killing most of the planet’s population.
- Without authorization from the Separatist government, he released a bioweapon of the planet Loedorvia, not only to destroy all life on that planet but all life in the entire sector the planet was in, killing billions of humans. This action caused great controversy in the Confederacy, as even Count Dooku and Nute Gunray spoke out against such actions, though for their own reasons.
- He kidnapped an ambassador just to bait the Jedi, killing Jedi knights T’chooka D’oon and Jmmaar although the ambassador was rescued.
- Seemingly killed Jedi master Quarmall (he really survived but was turned to the dark side and became an inquisitor for the Empire) and several Jedi younglings, holding the surviving younglings as hostages.
- He forced the younglings to watch as he forced the entire population of an Ugnaught city into a large domed building before blowing it up, killing every Ugnaught inside.
- Planned to turn the surviving younglings into cyborgs like himself, through a process that would involve amputating their limbs and removing several of their organs.
- Caused Flynn Kybo, the apprentice of T'chooka, who wanted to avenge his master, to sacrifice himself in an attempt to stop Grievous for good that failed, making his sacrifice in vain.
- He is highly abusive towards his subordinates, both organic and droids, for reasons ranging from failure to slightly annoying him. He usually taking his frustration out on them, which has killed a few, he also does not care if his droids die in explosions, only attempting to get himself out of danger.
- During the Battle of Coruscant, he murdered nearly every Neimoidian officer under his command in fits of rage.
- Kills two Jedi who wanted revenge on Grievous for his two previous crimes.
- Proposed the Separatists increase their use of bioweapons after seeing the destruction caused by them at Battle of Honoghr.

- Kills 27 Jedi at the Battle of Belderone.
- On the planet Nelvaan, he tricked the males Nelvaanians into following by making them believe he was the Nelvaan mythology's prophesied figure. He them conduct experiment on them to make them soldiers. This experiment caused a horrible mutation to their bodies. And while Anakin freed them and destroyed the facility where the experience where conducted, they could never go back to their original appearance (Hopefully they were still accepted by their village).
- He committed genocide against an allied Separatist world because he did not want it to fall into the hands of the Republic.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Although his crimes make him arguably eviler and more heinous than his Disney Canon counterpart, in what C-Canon established, Grievous also possesses an extremely tragic backstory that turned him into the monster he became:
- His planet Kalee was constantly invaded by the imperialist insect-like species known as the Yam'rii who kidnapped millions of Kalee citizens and sold them into slavery. Grievous and his love interest took up arms to help defend their world and tragically his love interest was brutally killed by the Yam'rii. Her death motivated him to unite the Kalee people as their leader and drive the Yam'rii off his world before invading Yam'rii colony worlds. The Yam'rii pleaded to the Republic for help, lying that Grievous and the Kalee started the conflict. The Republic believed the Yam'rii and placed sanctions enforced by the Jedi that crippled the planet of Kalee, sending it's people into poverty where thousands died of starvation.
- Grievous joined the Intergalactic Banking Clan as an enforcer when they agreed to alleviate Kalee's debt. However he soon learned the Yam'rii vandalized sacred Kaleesh burial grounds and the Republic did nothing to stop them, deciding to return home to fight for his people once more by gathering his warriors on a spacecraft to attack. However IGBC chairman San Hill conspired with Poggle the Lesser, Count Dooku, and Darth Sidious to make Grievous their permanent servant. They planted a bomb on his craft but set his seat to eject at the last second, causing it to explode, killing the Kaleesh army but leaving Grievous alive but severely crippled. They lied to Grievous that the Jedi and Republic were responsible and enraged by this, he agreed to fight for the growing Separatist movement if they didn't tamper with his mind while rebuilding him (which Poggle the Lesser did anyway).
- His backstory is why he understandably hates the Jedi and Republic and wishes for their destruction.
- He actually respected one Jedi, master B'ink Utrila (one of the four Jedi protectors of Palpatine during the Battle of Coruscant) for her courage and fearlessness, allowing her to get a few hits on him before killing her, which he felt remorse for and didn't mutilate her body like he did with the other three Jedi.
- He also might have a level of respect for his archenemy, General Obi-Wan Kenobi, whom he fought against many times during the war and was one of the very few Jedi Masters who could hold his own against him.
Trivia[]
- Only the Legends Canon version of Grievous is Near Pure Evil due to his tragic backstory, while the Disney Canon one is Pure Evil due to lacking the mitigating factors.
- Because of the many contradictions T-Canon has made onto C-Canon, this had to be a composite profile, as there are even inconsistencies with General Grevious' origin during pre-Disney.
