Gaston Gourmand is one of the main antagonists of the PBS Kids show Wild Kratts.
He is a rogue chef who lost his cooking license due to attempting to cook endangered species, but now tries to cook them on a regular basis. He is an enemy to the Wild Kratts and ally to Zach Varmitech, Donita Donata and Paisley Paver.
He is voiced by Zachary Bannet, alongside Zach Varmitech.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- As stated before, he generally tries to cook endangered animals into dishes just to make a profit and doesn't care if they are endangered or not, and therefore has the highest attempted kill count in the series.
- He sometimes tries to kill the Wild Kratts on several occasions and was even the one to give Zach the idea to trap the Wild Kratts on an icefoloe stranding them to die during the Christmas special.
- He even has implied he would have no problem cooking the Kratts by saying they're the size of his hermit crab poppers, which would be enforced cannibalism.
- He is aware of the animals sapience, as he heard they have a special relationship with their animal friends.
- He come from family who also done the same things as him as his ancestor Great Great Granddaddy Gourmand was responsible for driving the Dodobirds extinct and he could have lived up to his legacy had the Kratt Brothers not always keep stopping his plans.
- He refuses to cook ordinary dishes.
- Despite having comedic moments, he is still taken seriously.
- Despite caring about his cooking utensils, best shown when he complains about them getting damaged, this isn’t redeeming since they aren’t sapient. In fact, it makes him more egotistical.
Season 1[]
- In his first appearance in "Platypus Cafe", he attempts to turn Platypus eggs into an omelet after hearing that they come from a mammal, thinking they are a unique thing to turn into a meal.
- In the process of first getting the platypus eggs, he floods the river the nest are located in and succeeds in capturing the eggs alongside Chris, expressing interest in cooking him as well. After inviting the other villains (not Paisley, as she hasn't appeared yet) to his foldable restraunt he tells them to sit down and starts to prepare his omelet.
- After Zach catches Chris, he ties his hands together and makes him watch as he prepares his omelet. After Martin arrives and cuts the power and tries to take the eggs, he attacks him with a spatula. Although that would backfire as he and the other villains would have large pots fall on their head and roll into the river.
- In the process of first getting the platypus eggs, he floods the river the nest are located in and succeeds in capturing the eggs alongside Chris, expressing interest in cooking him as well. After inviting the other villains (not Paisley, as she hasn't appeared yet) to his foldable restraunt he tells them to sit down and starts to prepare his omelet.
- In "Honey Seekers", he tries to make a honey badger honey dish to serve to Zach and captures several honey badgers.
- After encountering the Kratt brothers, he ties them to a tree and tells them he's going to make a dish out of a honey badger. Later the Kratt brothers are surrounded by a swarm of bees but luckily Aviva rescues them.
- When Chris and Aviva come to rescue the honey badgers he deactivates Chris out of his honey badger power suit wit a dough ball and sticks them to the wall with his other dough balls. Later he ends up being defeated and flies off.
- After encountering the Kratt brothers, he ties them to a tree and tells them he's going to make a dish out of a honey badger. Later the Kratt brothers are surrounded by a swarm of bees but luckily Aviva rescues them.
- In "Stuck on Sharks", he tries to make shark fin soup using great white shark fins. He ends up being told by the Kratt brothers to release the shark and simply splashes them in response and speeds off.
- After the Kratt brothers release the shark and stop Gourmand, he gets caught in the cage and ends up speeding off aimlessly in his own boat.
- In "Raptor Round Up", he tries to make dishes out of various raptors around the world and stops in Africa to get some for his dishes. After the Wild Kratts try to sneak the raptors out of his plane, they succeed partially before being caught by Gourmand.
- He then tries shooting dough balls at Chris in a peregrine falcon power suit and succeeds in crashing him into a mud wallow, but Martin shortly rescues Chris from the mud wallow. After trying to chase Gourmand he traps the Kratt brothers in a mist net but they are able to free themselves.
- He later tries to recapture the raptors by sneaking into the Tourtuga and ends up finding Guineafowl Flappers instead, to which Aviva traps him in a sack and sends him to Antarctica where no raptors exist.
- He then tries shooting dough balls at Chris in a peregrine falcon power suit and succeeds in crashing him into a mud wallow, but Martin shortly rescues Chris from the mud wallow. After trying to chase Gourmand he traps the Kratt brothers in a mist net but they are able to free themselves.
Season 2[]
- In "Happy Turkey Day", he tries to look for wild turkeys to sell to people for Thanksgiving Day. He ends up encountering the Kratt brothers and tells them he's out for a nature walk, before later being encountered by 3 of the Wild Kratts kids and tells them he is looking for the largest turkey he can find.
- He later tries to shoot Martin in a wild turkey power suit with dough and is distracted by Chris and later finds he was being distracted and pours gravy on Chris' power suit. After being led into a corn maze by the Wild Kratts and several Wild Kratts kids, he gets lost and ends up engaging a bear and fighting it before getting tossed around and further getting lost and pointlessly calling out for the turkey.
- In "To Touch a Hummingbird", he is approached by a hummingbird in the Central American rainforest and decides to make chocolate covered hummingbird eggs.
- After the Wild Kratts detect him, he being unaware of their presence, tries to dip the eggs into chocolate and notices the Kratt brothers and tries to hit them with his spatula but fails, then tries to hit them with his dough blaster and hits the flowers they need to refuel, but to no avail as they use his chocolate sauce to refuel and send him flying in his airplane away after retrieving the eggs.
- In "Rainforest Stew", he tries to make a stew out of rainforest animals and ends up catching 3 spider monkeys and a jaguar. After Martin comes to rescue the 4 animals, he pretends to leave and returns to stick Martin's hands together with dough and most likely holds him captive.
- After that he goes to take more animals and tries to steal harpy eagle eggs, he then accidently has his ingredients list drift away and it lands on Chris' face prompting him to warn the rest of the Wild Kratts. After Chris frees the animals and Martin frees himself using the jaguar, Gourmand tries to fly away, but the Wild Kratts end up freeing the animals from his plane and throew Gourmand out of his plane.
- Then he falls into a harpy eagle's nest and flies away using a jet pack to evade the harpy eagle.
- After that he goes to take more animals and tries to steal harpy eagle eggs, he then accidently has his ingredients list drift away and it lands on Chris' face prompting him to warn the rest of the Wild Kratts. After Chris frees the animals and Martin frees himself using the jaguar, Gourmand tries to fly away, but the Wild Kratts end up freeing the animals from his plane and throew Gourmand out of his plane.
Season 3[]
- In "The Hermit Crab Shell Exchange", he has the idea to make hermit crab poppers out of hermit crabs he finds on the beach.
- After he encounters the Kratt brothers with hermit crab powers, he fires dough at them and tries to possibly capture them or subdue them in some way. After the miniaturizer is teleported to save the Kratt Brothers, Gourmand fires dough at the miniaturizer severely damaging it.
- After he finishes collecting hermit crabs, he encounters the Kratt brothers at his restraunt again and flings Chris into the water using an oversized mixer and then uses the same thing to try with Martin but fails and is flung away before fleeing and admits defeat.
- After he encounters the Kratt brothers with hermit crab powers, he fires dough at them and tries to possibly capture them or subdue them in some way. After the miniaturizer is teleported to save the Kratt Brothers, Gourmand fires dough at the miniaturizer severely damaging it.
- In "Under Frozen Pond", Zach invites him and Donita along with her henchman Dabio, to come for their annual meeting to discuss their plans for the year and comes onto the ice just to annoy Zach by sprayinging him with sleet from the ice from his vehicle.
- After it goes on for some time he and the others go out for air at his request, where they find the Wild Kratts and several Wild Kratts Kids, where a hockey game is proposed by one of the Wild Kratt's kids to settle the dispute over who should leave, they humiliate the Wild Kratts for a few rounds before the tides turn and he and the others get defeated by the WIld Kratts after the Kratt brothers activate creature powers.
- They then finally leave after Zach complains and decide not to schedule the meeting after all.
- After it goes on for some time he and the others go out for air at his request, where they find the Wild Kratts and several Wild Kratts Kids, where a hockey game is proposed by one of the Wild Kratt's kids to settle the dispute over who should leave, they humiliate the Wild Kratts for a few rounds before the tides turn and he and the others get defeated by the WIld Kratts after the Kratt brothers activate creature powers.
- In "Opossum in My Pocket", he comes the swamps of Florida to decide what will do for his next dish to serve. He trips over Chris' backpack and decides to use the contents to search for animals.
- After an opossum lands on his head, he decides it will be perfect for his dish. After encountering Chris in opossum powers, he tries to steal an opossum named Jillybean and puts a boulder in Chris' pouch and escapes.
- After encountering Martin also in an opossum power suit, Martin plays dead and tries to steal the opossum back and escapes. After getting back to his restraurant, he continues trying to cook but notices Chris, Martin, and Aviva sneaking up to the restaurant and releases a bag of diamondback rattlesnakes, trying to stop them from approaching. After he fails, not knowing opossums are immune to rattlesnake bites, he drives off and admits defeat.
- After an opossum lands on his head, he decides it will be perfect for his dish. After encountering Chris in opossum powers, he tries to steal an opossum named Jillybean and puts a boulder in Chris' pouch and escapes.
- In "Lemur Legs", he encounters the Wild Kratts and tells them he isn't going to do anything villainous before pulling out his restaurant when they're gone, before inviting Zach and Donita to eat "lemur legs amandine". He comes up with the idea to distract the Wild Kratts by setting up diversions, taking advantage of their want to save animals and stealing 3 sifaka lemurs. After it occurs the the Wild Kratts it was a diversion, the Kratt brothers in sifaka lemur powers try to take back the sifaka lemurs and fail and have their legs covered in dough. Then the rest of the Wild Kratts steal back the lemurs and leave Gourmand without anything to serve.
Season 4[]
- In "Liturgusa Krattorum", he hears along with Donita from Zach that the Wild Kratts have a species named after them due to their dedication to zoology, and become angry and decide to use the species to their own twisted desires.
- After landing on the Tortuga and coming to ground level and crushing Koki's Creature Pod and Donita disabling their communications. They then find the other Wild Kratts next to the tree part of the species is located in and begin capturing the praying mantis named after the Wild Kratts. They then are stopped by the Wild Kratts and blame eachother and fly off.
- In "Pangolin Rescue", he tries to capture pangolins to make their scales into a supposed medicinal fruit smoothie to sell to people and make a profit, which (obviously) would have hurt the pangolins very much.
- He encounters Chris and is told pangolin scales won't have medicinal benefits, to which he doesn't believe him. After encountering the Martin in pangolin powers, he succeeds in pinning him to the wall with his dough balls, before Martin picks the lock and frees Chris and the other pangolins. He then admits defeat and flys away.
- In the Christmas special "A Creature Christmas", he is seen in the beginning of the episode kidnapping some of the Wild Kratts' animal friends which are later revealed to be used in Zach's robot Christmas tree as ornaments.
- After Martin comes to stop him the first time, he subdues him with dough and kicks the vehicle he used to get there down a cliff, destroying it in the process. After the Wild Kratts regroup, they travel to Varmitech Village, where the Wild Kratts try to stop them, but then Gourmand and the others fake a change of heart and give the Wild Kratts "Christmas presents" before stealing their technology and trapping them on an icefloe in the middle of the Arctic, leaving them to die.
- What makes him stand out here is it was his idea to trap the Wild Kratts on an icefloe to die, making him responsible for attempted mass murder, if 5 people can be considered "mass" of course. After the Wild Kratts return after using Martin's Christmas present, a keychain that can be used to call for the Creature power suits.
- They try to defeat the Wild Kratts once more and end up defeated again, but put themselves in between the Wild Kratts' animal friends, but didn't remember that the animals know the Wild Kratts and were caught in a stampede of baby animals after the Wild Kratts called for them. They decide Christmas isn't worth it and fly off.
- What makes him stand out here is it was his idea to trap the Wild Kratts on an icefloe to die, making him responsible for attempted mass murder, if 5 people can be considered "mass" of course. After the Wild Kratts return after using Martin's Christmas present, a keychain that can be used to call for the Creature power suits.

- In "The Last Largest Lobster", he tries to look for "The Last Largest Lobster" try and cook it. After putting on a wet suit and a mechanical nose Zach made for him to smell underwater, he begins looking and finds Chris before complaing he was apparently trying to frustrate him before deciding that whoever found the lobster first could do what he wanted with it.
- They thenbettle for it using cooking utensils and lobster claws. The miniaturizer drops from Chris' pocket and then enlarges the lobster so it pokes above the sea, then he goes crazy with desires to cook the lobster and begins to try to crack the lobster's shell, where Gourmand gets entangled in rope, where Chris frees him and is forced to flee.
- In the special "Creatures of the Deep Sea", he tries to cook fish of the deep sea using a deep sea submarine Zach gave to him in order to get access to them with payment of an unlimited seafood coupon. He is seen later in the episode trying to take multiple fish from the deep sea and tries to head back to the surface where he fails and has his submarine sink into an underwater vent and is sent back to the surface in his escape pod.
Season 5[]
- In "City Hoppers", he meets with Zach, Donita, and Paisley in order to welcome Paisley into their organization. He later tries to make a snack out of grasshoppers and in the process, steals Chris' Creature Power Disks. The Wild Kratts later bring the grasshoppers back to where they need to be and steal back the creatue power disks, making the villains leave.
- In "Komodo Dragon", he tries to rescue Zach from Komodo Island after he got stuck there, then soon decide to work together to cook all the komodo dragon eggs on the island with Gourmand sniffing out the eggs and Zach digging out the eggs with his Zach Bots. This backfires and both of them later leave.
- In "The Fourth Bald Eagle", he tries to make bald eagle egg soufflés as a way to make his former classmate at chef school jealous of him, only to be stopped by the WIld Kratts after being found out by 2 Wild Kratts Kids.
Season 6[]
- In "Mystery of the Flamingo's Pink", he tries to make broth or seasoning out of brine shrimp and salt water he finds in the pond the flamingos need to eat to stay pink. Later thde Wild Kratts stop him and he goes on with nothing to sell.
- In the special "Amazin' Amazon Adventure", he alongside Zach, Donita, and Paisley decide to use the Amazon Rainforest's biodiversity to their advantage and decide to destroy it and use the animals to their own twisted needs while Paisley turns the forest into a mall for the villains to sell their merchandise.
- This is where he really stands out, because it can be reasonably assumed that he attempted to kill a third of the animals in the Amazon Rainforest to turn into dishes, accounting for millions of animals' deaths in the process, while leaving the other two thirds to Donita and Zach. He also caught the Kratt Brothers and several animals with dough and brought them back to their camp, before Aviva came to the rescue with her latest invention and stopped them from destroying the rainforest.
Season 7[]
- In "Outfoxed", he tries to track down a fox and later uses an enormous whisk to destroy the foxes' nest to try to get at the foxes and the eggs they hid.
- In "Clever the Raven", he is seen icefishing and tries to violently attack Clever with his dough blaster for stealing his fish, only for this to backfire twice allowing Clever and the Kratt brothers to escape.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He seems to like working with the other villains as his relationship with them doesn’t seem to be just business.
