Galvanax is the main antagonist of Power Rangers Ninja Steel and the overarching antagonist of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.

He is the reigning, undefeated champion and producer of the popular universal game show, Galaxy Warriors,

He was voiced by Richard Simpson.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Seeks to rule the universe using the Ninja Power Stars. A standard goal for alien villains yes, but uses some exceptionally heinous means to do so.
  • He along with Odious kidnapped people and turns them into slaves or bought slaves from corrupt governments alongside the other Galaxy Warriors. This includes not just Brody, but also Mick Kanick from the Lion Galaxy and the sentient robot Redbot, and it's also implied there are more.
  • Tried to steal the Ninja Nexus Prism to increase his power, which forced Dane to apparently sacrifice his life to stop them. He survived it, but he was heavily injured, presumed dead for a decade and wasn't there to see his sons have to grow up.
  • Upon Dane's defeat, he and his generals captured Brody to be their prisoner and slave for a decade until he escaped. However, Dane's eldest son, Aiden had to go into hiding for a decade and change his name to escape them, until Odius kidnapped him too a decade later, something Galvanax didn't know about, but his actions still caused this.
  • He had his monsters fight each other to the death just to get the Power Stars, not showing any concern to the ones who lost and died.
  • Is awfully abusive to all of his subordinates, threatening some of them and insulting his Kudabots as worthless. Even Odious is not exempt from this having once shoved her aside and another threatening to fire her and the others into the sun (though Odious herself is only using Galvanax and intends to betray him out of a desire for power, not out of any mistreatment of her or anyone else).
  • He sees Ripcon as nothing more than a subordinate to him, being a living punching bag to him more than once whenever he failed. He also did nothing about Odious mistreating him either and even approved of it, once forcing him to clean the entire ship with a toothbrush. This is in spite of being completely loyal to him to the point of calling him champ.
    • When Odious frames Ripcon for her crime of kidnapping and torturing Aiden and creating a fake Aiden robot, instead of investigating further, he takes her word for it and orders Ripcon to kill the rangers or he would be killed instead. He also didn't care at all when he was killed.
    • Even after he realizes Odious's deception and she reveals that Ripcon wasn't the traitor but her, Galvanax doesn't show any remorse or reflection for wrongfully blaming him, saying "another traitor bites the dust" after a meteor crashes into her, indicating he just wanted an excuse to get rid of him.
  • Murders a Kudabot just to warn Ripcon of what will happen if he continues to fail him.
  • Tries to claim that Brody was being ungrateful for "stealing" the Power Stars after he spared his life and gave him a home on his ship, which is a blatant lie since he actually "destroyed" his father and enslaved him on his ship, which Brody calls him out on.
  • He intends to kill the other rangers as well just because they are teenagers, whom he dismisses as pests.
  • He has Hacktrack steal Sarah Thompson/Pink Ranger's cloning technology so he could use giant copies of himself to cause mass destruction on the city.
  • Mocked several contestants that he dislikes including Ripcon's mother.
  • When Princess Viera came to the Warrior Dome as the next contestant to fight the rangers, hearing of how half the Lion Galaxy views her as weak for having moral boundaries, he convinces her bodyguard Drillion, who has no such morals, to usurp her as ruler of the Lion Galaxy if she fails to kill the rangers, which ends up happening though Drillion doesn't succeed in that goal either.
  • In addition to not treating Cosmo Royale with any respect, and even being annoyed at his love of the ratings of Galaxy Warriors, he destroys his blog out of spite for Cosmo ending it with him being ruler of the universe and threatening his life if he makes any more of them.
  • In the season finale, he sees Victor and Monty's Ninja Steel magnet and goes down to the planet to take the magnet with the stars on it and imprison the two on his ship for his own purposes.
    • While he does compliment the two for creating the magnet, it's only because it gave him the opportunity to gain the Power Stars
  • To get the rangers' own Power Stars (the only stars not trapped), he uses the magnet against every ranger, demorphing them, and then taking them prisoner immediately after he was done (even gagging their mouths). He only failed to do so to Brody. So he uses the other rangers as a hostage (with their own Power Stars used as a decoration for his champion belt) to force him to surrender his Power Star or else he will have the Basher Bots kill them.
  • When that fails, the rangers' power stars being returned to them and Dane Romero's survival was finally revealed, he vows to cause some family destruction, drinking the Ninja Steel he stole and melted from the other stars still in his possession to grow stronger.
  • Grown by the Gigantify Ray, he tries to crush all the rangers like ants since they can't form the megazords. Only Odious's betrayal allows the rangers to kill him off at last.
  • While Odious's betrayal, and thus her role in his death, was one of her most heinous acts, Galvanax's death can't be considered a sympathetic one given how cruel and terrible he himself was. He has a huge fanbase, but only because of his unchallenged strength and Odious even warned him that they will view him as weak if he gets knocked down once and turn against him. While his death is celebrated by the heroes for obvious reasons, none of the villains that remained mourn for him and the rest of his crew, including Cosmo Royale accept Odious taking over as leader without any hesitation.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he has several crimes that stand out as heinous and were his idea in the first place, Galvanax is nevertheless surpassed in the heinous department by Madame Odious, whose crimes included mass brainwashing, torture, double crossings, and an onscreen murder with more impact.
  • He has several comedic moments that are genuinely played for laughs such as his reaction when the girl rangers mock him and his status as champ (albeit only once) and some silly sounding threats for failure. However, he is still taken very seriously in-universe so it's only a minor prevention.

Trivia[]

  • He has a similar goal to the previous main villain Sledge, seeking a power source that the Power Rangers use for universal conquest. Sledge, however, had several redeeming traits that were too numerous for him to be considered Near Pure Evil as well, such as love for Poisandra and being more comical than Galvanax. Not to mention Galvanax's impact on the story is even more personal as he enslaved a child who would become the Red Ranger after seemingly killing his father while Brody and the other son grew up without a father.
  • He is the third and final Power Rangers NPE villain in the Neo-Saban era.
    • He is also the final Power Rangers NPE ever, as the villains who come afterwards in the Hasbro era who are not full on Pure Evil (which only two are) are too standard or have more redeeming and comedic traits.
