Galdandy is a minor antagonist of 1989 manga series Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. He is a member of the Dragon Riders who served under Baran alongside his comrades Borahorn and Larhalt. He and his comrades help Baran retrieve his son Dai/Dino back from his friends, but only to be killed during his fight against Popp.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He and his comrades, Borahorn and Larhalt, agreed to help Baran get his son Dai/Dino back from his friends to have him join his side. If they succeeds in doing so, Dai will lose the rest of his humanity inside of him and he'll ended up like his father.
- While he was summoned by Baran, he asked him if the day has come to burn all of the Earth, which is exactly what was he wondering.
- Went to terrorize the Bengarna Kingdom by having his dragon Ruud burning it down to the ground and killing several people here. After the destruction, he dismissed it as a "signal of war" when Baran returns.
- It is mentioned by both Baran and Borahorn that he has done it multiple times before, which may be an offscreen villainy, but Galdandy indeed did this onscreen in the manga.
- Attacked Popp when he was casting Donk at the Dragon Riders.
- Attempt to suffocate Popp to death with his pet dragon Ruud, something which disgusts both of his comrades.
- Out of anger for killing his pet dragon Ruud, he threw his feathers at Popp to drain his Magic Power and stamina and brutally beats him up to a pulp before attempt to decapitate his head if it weren't for Hyunckel.
- After Hyunckel saved Popp, he angrily intends to kill the former for that before he was killed at the hands of the latter.
- Despite the high heinous standards of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, Galdandy has less resources since most of the Dark Army are the world conquerors, including the more powerful Vearn, and not to mention having less screentime than them. However, him attacking Bengarna and his attempted murder on Popp allowed him to stand out.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Despite how cruel and sadistic he could be, Galdandy at least cares for his pet dragon Ruud as he mourned at him after Popp killed him with Sizzle and angrily wanted to get revenge on him because of this.
Trivia[]
- He and Mystvearn are the only Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai villains to be Near Pure Evil.
