Frau Irene Engel is the secondary antagonist of the Wolfenstein franchise, serving as the secondary antagonist of Wolfenstein: The New Order and the main antagonist of Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. She is a high-ranking member of the Nazi Party, later charged with killing B.J. for his crimes against the Nazi state and to aid in reinforcing the Nazi-backed occupation of the United States.
She was portrayed by Nina Franoszek.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She's the director of Camp Belica, a concentration camp in northern Croatia where prisoners are either gassed upon arrival or worked to death. For more specifics:
- She steals a sick baby from its father's arms, undoubtedly killing it offscreen.
- Prisoners are sometimes dragged down into the barracks by a guard nicknamed "The Knife", who tortures them to death before incinerating their corpses.
- Upon catching B.J. stealing the battery in her mansion, Engel orders him and all of Block 4 executed simply to deliver a message. She even guns down two prisoners in one of the escape trucks.
- She leads the attack on the Kreisau Circle's hideout, resulting in several casualties including Klaus and either Tekla or J.
- She's a horribly abusive mother to Sigrun, even demeaning her for being overweight (and possibly bisexual) before ordering her to kill Caroline simply to prove her worth to the Nazi Party.
- She decapitates Caroline with a fire axe right in front of B.J. and then desecrates her corpse for kicks, shoving her dead head against his face while making kissing noises. This is when the two's enmity officially became totally personal.
- She amputates either Fergus' arm or Wyatt's ear.
- She shoots Super Spesh to death when he tries to break B.J. out of prison, and then sticks her pistol's still-smoking barrel into the latter's mouth while asking how the gunpowder tastes.
- She publicly decapitates B.J. on live television at the Lincoln Memorial. Fortunately though, Set revives him by sticking his head on a new metal body.
- While Adolf Hitler and other Nazis possess more resources than her, Engel still stands out due to the nature of her factions.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She genuinely loves Bubi, and the feeling is clearly mutual. Her reaction to B.J. killing him is one of complete shellshock and grief, which is most likely why she's so obsessed with making him suffer in The New Colossus. This redeeming quality is never blatantly subverted in any way no matter how horrible of a human being she is.
