Francis "Frank" D'Amico is the main antagonist of the Kick-Ass film duology, serving as the main antagonist of Kick-Ass and the posthumous overarching antagonist of Kick-Ass 2. He is a vicious crime lord and Chris D'Amico's father.

He was portrayed by Mark Strong.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • Many years ago, he accused officer Damon Macready of drug-related crimes, as a result of which he was sent to prison for 5 years, and his wife committed suicide.
  • Tortured his subordinate, whom he accuses of stealing his cocaine to sell it to rival dealers. The goon tells him that Big Daddy confiscated the drugs, but Frank and the other thugs don't believe his story about the masked avenger and continue to torture him for information, eventually killing him by putting him in a giant room like a microwave oven.
  • After learning that the thug was telling the truth, Frank has no remorse for killing the thug under torture and intends to kill the vigilante.
  • He killed an innocent man in a Kick-Ass costume (mistaking him for the real one), as well as a random witness to this murder.
  • After learning that in fact it was just an innocent man playing the role of a Kick-Ass, he shows absolutely no remorse for killing an innocent cosplayer or a poor innocent bystander, showing how selfish he is, even ranting about the fact that there were people who played the role of an avenger at children's birthday parties, calling children are "stupid little bastards".
  • He eventually captures Kick Ass and Big Daddy. Even after learning that Kick Ass was not responsible for the problems involving Frank and that it was all Big Daddy, and that Kick Ass is a teenager like Frank's own son Chris, Frank still plans to have the poor guy killed along with Big Daddy while livestreaming it just to send a message to prevent future vigilantes.
  • He has his men beat and torture both Kick Ass and Big Daddy live, while he watches with a sadistic grin, knowing he's torturing and killing an innocent boy. He has his men attempt to burn the two alive, though Hit-Girl saves Kick Ass.
  • Dave (Kick Ass's true identity) and Mindy attack the D'Amico headquarters to avenge what he and his men did to them. He ends up getting into a fight with Hit-Girl, during which he brutally beats down on the 12 year old girl and taunts her about having murdered her father. He's about to kill her when Dave enters and shoots him with a bazooka.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • No matter how violent he is, he cares about his son Chris and is friends with his right-hand man, Big Joe.
  • He has some comedic moments, such as him saying "Mommy! I want a Kick Ass party!" After accidentally killing a guy dressed up as Kick Ass for a kid's birthday party, and him mistaking the sounds of his men getting gunned down for a bazooka going off.
