Francis Dollarhyde, also known as the Tooth Fairy and his alter-ego known as the Great Red Dragon, is the main antagonist of the 1986 psychological horror thriller Manhunter, the first adaptarion of Thomas Harris' 1981 novel Red Dragon.
He is a seriel killer who murders whole families at night on full moons at the command of his Alter-Ego known as the "Great Red Dragon" and is nicknamed The Tooth Fairy due to his tendency to bite his victims' bodies, the uncommon size and sharpness of his teeth and other apparent oral fixations.
He was portrayed by Tom Noonan.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- He massacres entire families on a full moon at the behest of his alter-ego known as the "Great Red Dragon"
- Prior to the film, he murdered the Jacobi family.
- He murders the Leeds family by stabbing, shooting and strangling them to death.
- He kidnaps, threatens, tortures and kills Freddy Lounds by setting him on fire after biting him.
- He showed a small amount of narcissism, telling Lounds that he and the others "Owe him Awe".
- He shows his co-worker Reba a video of the next family he intends to target while hanging out with her.
- He kills his co-worker Ralph by shooting him to death outside of Reba's home.
- He kidnaps Reba under the rationale that "Francis is gone forever".
- He overpowers Will when he crashes through the window in an attempt to save Reba.
- He kills two cops who came to assist Will with a shotgun.
- He attempts to finish Will off by shooting at him.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has some moral agency issues, as all his kills are enacted under his split personality's behest.
- He does care a bit for his co-worker Reba, as he took her to see an anesthetized tiger and couldn't bring himself to murder her, though this is a minor prevention as he only failed to kill her due to Will crashing through the window.
Trivia[]
- It's unknown if both his Red Dragon (2002 film) and Hannibal version could count as Near Pure Evil.
- He along with Buffalo Bill are the only two Hannibal villains to be Near Pure Evil.
