| ā | Well, silly. I want you to learn the lesson I died to learn. Weāre going to try a little exercise, if you donāt mind. [ā¦] Iām going to attack you, Papyrus. For real. And I want you to fight me. I want you to fight me for real. I want to see what you can do when you donāt pull your punches. [ā¦] I know you donāt, friend, but if you donāt, then Iāll have to find another way to teach you the lesson. Now, I know the great Papyrus wouldnāt dream of running away like a coward, would he? Because that would disappoint me. [ā¦] Of course we are, silly goose. You are my favourite, after all. Now, are you ready to fight like your life depends on it? Because guess what? It does. | ā |
| ~ Flowey begins abusing Papyrus. |
Asriel Dreemurr, better known as Flowey the Flower, is the titular main antagonist of the Undertale fanfiction Flowey Is Not a Good Life Coach.
He serves as the main antagonist of Chapter 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 22, 23 and 24, the unseen overarching antagonist of Chapter 6, 8, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17 and 19, the final antagonist of Chapter 7, a minor character in Chapter 3, 11 and 20, and the posthumous overarching antagonist of Chapter 25.
While playing around with the timeline, Flowey decides to have "fun" with Papyrus by torturing and abusing him to make him stronger.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Everything he did in the story is out of sheer boredom and curiosity.
- Although he has a sympathetic backstory, he uses it to his own advantage and both the narration and Sans shut down the Freudian Excuse, claiming that the innocent Asriel that Flowey originally was is gone, and that Flowey had a complete choice in all his actions and willingly tortured Papyrus.
- He praises Papyrus and claims he's his best friend so he won't turn against him.
- Though he heals Papyrus and acts nicely to him many times, it's only to manipulate him further.
- The narration outright says that Flowey killed Papyrus or left him alone to grieve in countless timelines.
- He starts weekly "practices" where he attacks Papyrus and forces him to attack back, hurting him multiple times.
- Outright admits to Papyrus that he should fight like his life depends on it, because it does.
- Threatens Papyrus that if anyone will find out about their practices, he will kill both Papyrus and everyone who knows about it and tear them into pieces.
- His abuse of Papyrus makes him distance himself from his friends, especially Sans.
- Manipulates Papyrus by saying that Sans uses his kind nature.
- When Papyrus tells Flowey that he wants the practice to stop while ranting, Flowey calms him down and then asks why did he thinks he was in control, and also tells him that the session is over when he says it's over and that Papyrus doesn't say "no" to him.
- When Papyrus heals him when he's wounded by the skeleton's attacks, Flowey is mad at him for thinking that he's in any danger, chokes him, and breaks his arm.
- When Papyrus and Undyne are training, he watches in the background and waves at Papyrus so he'll stop being focused and accidentally hit Undyne.
- When Papyrus screams at him and threatens him, Flowey asks him if giving him orders is a good idea.
- During the fight, he keeps smiling because Papyrus finally wants to hurt him.
- Pops out Papyrus' jaw joint as punishment for letting Sans ruin their practice.
- When Papyrus can't make a Gaster Blaster during their fight, he tells him that he will go to Sans' house so he can finally see one, therefore implying that he will kill him, finally making Papyrus snap and shoot him with one.
- Chipped Papyrus' vertebra at one point.
- Views his father, Asgore, as pathetic.
- Because of the physical injuries Papyrus sustained from his and Flowey's training and Sans' nature to hide things, he is framed for abusing Papyrus and is promptly arrested by Undyne. When learning of this, Flowey sadistically laughs at this.
- Stole some Nice Cream from the Nice Cream Guy.
- Orders Papyrus to kill a female Snowdrake, who is only a child.
- Threatens Papyrus that if he doesn't kill the Snowdrake, he will kill him.
- Breaks Papyrus' hand four times thanks to constantly healing him, as punishment for not killing the Snowdrake.
- Admits to Papyrus that he wants to see him kill simply because he wants to see him kill.
- When Papyrus refuses to kill a Moldsmal, Flowey does it himself.
- Tells Papyrus that if he won't kill the next thing they'll find, Flowey will kill everyone he loves.
- Tries to kill Papyrus, Sans, Undyne, Dogamy and Dogaressa.
- Even when dying, Flowey is glad because he saw Papyrus gain LOVE. He even refuses to RESET because of this, despite knowing that if he doesn't do it, he will forever be dead.
- Although he lacks a soul, nothing indicates he has moral agency issues, especially considering the original Flowey seems to also possess moral agency albeit kinda questionable.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- His death is played for slight sympathy, as Papyrus mourns his death and closes his eyes even after all the abuse. Given Flowey's atrocities and how nobody else nor the narrative treats it with sympathy, this is a very minor prevention.
Trivia[]
- To cement his status as Near Pure Evil, his actions were so depraved and petty that even the author of the story regards him with open disgust, creating distinct tags regarding his behavior before the story.
