Garfield Lynns, better known as Firefly, is a minor antagonist in the DC Animated Universe, serving the main antagonist of two The New Batman Adventures episodes and as a supporting antagonist of the Justice League two-parter "Only a Dream".
He is a pyrotechnics technician who turned to crime after being rejected by Cassidy, the famous singer he worked for. After Cassidy fired him due to having enough of his obsessive behavior, Lynns tries to kill her repeatedly, but his attempts are foiled by Batman, leading him to become the pyromaniac criminal Firefly.
He was voiced by Mark Rolston.
His Evil Ranking[]

- He snuck into Rock City when Cassidy went there to host its opening and shot explosives projectiles in his attempts to corner Cassidy, endangering other celebrities such as Sam Pryor, Trent Wallace, and countless of others again.

- He burned Batman's hook gun to try to drop him thousands of feet to his death.
- He rigged his warehouse out in an attempt to get Batman and Batgirl killed, which gets Batgirl critically injured.
- He tricked Frank and Cassidy's recording crew into leaving her alone at the record building by making it look like the place was burning by putting smoke bombs in the ventilation system.
- He tried to burn all of Gotham City's sewers with an extremely dangerous flammable gel of his own invention to burn all of Gotham, which would have indirectly claimed millions of lives in the process.

- He tried to burn Batman alive with his fire gun, even melting the hallway of a building in the process.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He has a genuine friendship with Volcana, even admitting that he has feelings for her and offering to assist her while she faces Green Lantern, showing that he got over Cassidy.
Trivia[]
- To help drive the point of Firefly being Near Pure Evil home, FOX Kids actually prevented the DCAU writers from using Firefly in Batman: The Animated Series due to his pyromaniacal nature. He was finally allowed to be used in The New Batman Adventures, because by then, the DCAU shows had been moved to Kid's WB.
- The New Batman Adventures writer Rich Fogel originally came up with the possibility of bringing back Cassidy in a later episode as Lady Firefly, due to Firefly's actions driving her insane, but the show ended before Fogel could propose such an idea. Had it been used in the show, this would have easily made Firefly even worse.
