~ Fassad's Laugh.

Yokuba, originally known as Locria and named Fassad in the unofficial translation, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside the Masked Man) in Mother 3. His role in the game is one of the two leaders of the Pigmask Army as well as one of the former one out of seven Magypsies who is actually a traitor due to his power-hungry personality.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He betrayed the other Magypsies and is implied to have told Porky Minch about the dark dragon, which would give him the idea to use it to destroy the universe.
    • Important to note, that while the Magypsies are mostly neutral or even cold towards other species, Fassad was sadistic from the start.
    • It's also highly probable that Fassad had similarly heinous intentions to Porky, as he told Porky how the Dark Dragon works to begin with. The two possibilities being that either the fate of all evil could be washed away, or the destruction of everything. The Masked Man revealed a third possibility however that all life would simply cease to exist, and Porky being aware of this fact (as stated in his monologue) likely reveals that Fassad, someone more knowledgeable of the Dark Dragon's powers was also aware. Generally, this implies Fassad may have had more than just ambitions of greed, but destruction as well.
  • He arrived to Tazmily Village and bought livestock from a farmer named Butch and ended up stealing the money back.
    • By stealing the money, this would indirectly lead to Butch accusing Duster of stealing his money, despite being innocent.
    • It is also heavily implied that these animals are the experiments that were painfully transformed into the hostile Cattlesnake, Pigtunia and Slitherhen chimeras.
    • This exchange alone would also cause the first person in Tazmily Village to become greedy, which Fassad was fully aware of as it would cause the concept of money to spread to and corrupt other villagers with greed.
  • Was abusive towards Salsa the Monkey by making him wear a shock collar that he would constantly use for shocking him for whatever reason he felt like while acting as a shield for him in the desert to eliminate monsters in his path. He also had his girlfriend, Samba kidnapped, threatening to kill her if Salsa doesn't obey him.
  • During his stay in Yado Inn at Tazmily Village, while he does give a villager money for letting him stay in a hotel (even though the villagers refuses to accept money due to being unfamiliar with money), this comes off as more of a cold transaction on Fassad's part, rather than any form of generosity as he rejects the kind hospitality the villager is trying to establish.
  • He enslaved Tazmily Village underneath their noses by tricking them into taking Happy Boxes, while also forcing Salsa to give away these boxes using bribes. After this, he would act as a traveling salesman to act as a town hero and manipulate the townsfolk for 3 years. It is strongly implied he made anybody who didn't support his act become outcasted by other villagers using propoganda.
  • He forces the old people to live in an disheveled retirement home known as Old Man's Paradis.
  • When Wess, an elderly man, tries to confront him on his misconduct, he refutes and starts a rumor the village that Wess is bald then has a Pork Trooper take him back to the nursing home in a net. After this, he notices Lucas and threatens him to stay out of his army's way and "suggests" he get a Happy Box for himself and manipulates the crowd into rooting against Lucas and the few who think Fassad is going too far are to afraid to speak up.
  • Upon his encounter with Duster and Kumatora, he tries to kill them with a Pork Tank. During the fight, he shows himself to be abusive towards his Pigmask underlings as he screams at them to shut up and demands them to redirect their anger towards a baby Drago, then cowardly begs for mercy.
  • He played a role in the construction of Thunder Tower, which was used to cause property destruction.
  • Ultimately, he planned to destroy Thunder Tower with Lucas, Kumatora, Duster, and Boney inside. Knowing full well it would've led to their demises, he simply taunted them up until his plan failed.
  • He held various Mr. Saturn captive and had his soldiers torture them with Frightbots which told scary stories that while comedic, still proved to be a bad experience for them.
  • His boss battles are more violent as he will inflict the party with nausea, forgetfulness and fleas to the party. Once he is angered, he will unleash a devastating PK Starstorm that will usually significantly injure the party members at once. He also has a move where he emits a light that will instantly kill one of them, no matter how much health they have. Furthermore, it's likely he's one of the few bosses in the game that fight the party intent on killing them as while other bosses normally have dialogue for when the party returns, Fassad does not. This, paired with the fact that as previously stated he intended to kill the party on past occasions.
  • Even though he received a Fate Worse than Death where he fell down the sewer and was too injured to move but couldn't die due to his immortality, this was absolutely not undeserved due to his actions.
  • While he does have some comedic moments like tripping over his own banana (which is more of a Karmic defeat anyway), his evil laugh and forcing Salsa to dance, they are too brief to be considered detracting and don't undermine his horrible crime.
  • Unlike the other Pigmasks, who were brainwashed by Porky Minch, he has free will as he willingly joins the Pigmasks and never was brainwashed, which also makes him stand out in comparison to them. This makes him just as bad, if not worse than Master Belch.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He had a pet mouse that he genuinely cared for as the mouse mentions that he liked to dote over it and was very nice to it.
  • He fails the heinous standard to Porky Minch, as Porky was responsible for all the chaos the Pigmasks caused while Fassad just played a part in some of the things Porky ordered and while Porky did have more recourses than Fassad does, Fassad was merely working for porky.

Trivia[]

  • According to Shigesato Itoi in an interview, Fassad was once a kind man before being influenced by a greater evil (Porky), however not only is this never delved upon in-game, but it would also likely not be preventing as he could have voluntarily became evil and shed his redeeming qualities.
