His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- It is implied that he stalked, assaulted and possibly killed other women in the past prior to the events of the film.
- He killed his father's assistant and secretary, Pamela Nazin, just to satisfy his sadism.
- He killed his biological mother Katie, although it is true that she was abusive and a drug addict, at least she tried to reconcile with her son, only for him to end up murdering her.
- He kills Katie while Anna looks horrified at the scene.
- He manipulated and tricked Anna into believing that his father, Alistair, was abusive and possibly he was the one who killed his mother.
- He psychologically torments Anna by sending a picture of her asleep via Gmail that he took himself.
- He stole the keys to anna's house to sneak in and watch her, according to his own words he was at anna's house for a week.
- He sadistically reveals to Anna that he was the one who killed Pamela and Katie, his mother.
- He reminds Anna of her family's death and he seems to make fun of it.
- His actions lead to Anna almost committing suicide and believing that she is crazy, even seemingly expect her to commit suicide when revealing his true nature to her.
- He attacks and kills David, Anna's tenant, to prevent him from intervening in any way.
- He tries to kill Anna by brutally attacking her with a small rake to her face and trying to drown her with rainwater.
- Although he was a minor, his death is not portrayed with much sympathy.
- He is a misogynist.
- Although it could be argued that he is crazy, he still seems to be able to distinguish good from evil so nothing suggests he has moral agency issues.
- He passes the standards of the story because the other characters could simply become abusive but he decided to become a misogynistic serial killer instead.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- The exact number of how many women he attacked or killed is unknown, which makes him fall into Fridge Horror.
