“ | It is still a little soon for you to have the right to fight me! Two thousand years ago, I devoured so many Ripple users like you that I got sick of it! | „ |
~ Esidisi |
Esidisi is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Wamuu) of the 1987 manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part II: Battle Tendency and its 2012 anime adaptation.
He is one of the last members of the Pillar Clan and the right-hand man of Kars, and one of the two masters of Wamuu along with Kars, aiding him in his quest to become the ultimate life form. Esidisi is noted to be the most unpredictable of the trio, since he tends to be highly emotional at sudden moments but is also very calculated and cunning in battle.
He was voiced by the late Keiji Fujiwara in Japanese and by Chris Jai Alex in English, the latter also voiced Lord Boros in One Punch Man.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Joined Kars in murdering the entire race of Pillar Men, presumably his own family.
- In the past, he devoured a countless number of Hamon users in the Roman Coll.
- When Wamuu challenged Joseph with the poison ring, Esidisi gave Joseph another ring on his windpipe just for kicks.
- Murdered Instructor Loggins by kicking his lungs out and desecrated and destroyed his body by melting it to try and kill Joseph.
- During his fight with Joseph, he constantly mocks him and attempts to frighten him using his powers.
- Possesses Suzie Q after being reduced to a brain and stole the Red Stone of Aja. Then, he had the stone shipped off to Switzerland for Kars to pick it up.
- Attacked Lisa Lisa, Joseph and Caesar and uses Suzie Q’s possessions to taunt them and try to make them kill her.
- While he has a comedic moment where he bursts out crying when Joseph burned his arm off, this is not detracting, as he quickly gets over it and states that he just did it to let out his anger.
- While Kars may have done worse, he has way more resources than him and his crimes of murdering his race allowed him to stand out in the already high heinous standards.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- He shows respect towards Kars and Wamuu. In fact, as Joseph noted, he was willing to sacrifice his pride and possess the body of Suzie Q, the lower life form he despised, to stop Joseph and the others from getting the Stone of Aja, proving his affection and loyalty towards Kars.
- His death was also played for some sympathy, as Joseph showed Esidisi respect and noted how he lived his life earnestly, despite not being a good person.
- He displays some limited affability towards Joseph during his fight with him.
Trivia[]
- Esidisi and Kars are the only Near Pure Evil JoJo's Bizarre Adventure villains to not have a Stand.
