Their Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Them Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Like their other counterparts in fiction and real life, their "tragedy" of being bullied and left out at school by their peers is not played for sympathy because their actions go far past it.
- They conspire to bomb their high school, which would kill thousands of people and are seen planting bombs in the cafeteria at the end of the movie. When this ultimately fails, they switch over to a shooting attack instead.
- While only one death is shown on screen, they are said to have killed 12 others.
- They mock and intimidate Rachel for her religious beliefs and confront her in the hallway for disrupting their video.
- In their video, Hitmen For Hire, they are shown to shoot bullies at their school in rather sadistic ways, which would foreshadow their later events.
- They are shown to mock their potential future victims by making fun of them figuring out about the tapes that would discuss their plans.
- They sadistically kill Rachel and mock her for believing in God. During her death, Eric and Dylan taunt her while she is bleeding and Eric then grabs her face and asks "Do you believe in God?" and when Rachel says that she does, Eric shoots her in the face, but not before he taunts her again by telling her to go be with Him.
- Eric is shown to show adoration for Adolf Hitler by looking rather interested in a history class when the teacher is talking about Hitler's social darwinism, and later does the Hitler salute when discussing the plans to shoot up the school with Dylan.
- While playing Doom, Dylan says "what if this was Columbine", Eric sadistically says "it could be", showing that he has no hesitation for his future actions. Although, Dylan initially shows some standards for calling Eric "sick" after this response he later takes place in the massacre and shows great sadism in his killing of Rachel, so it is unknown how much truth was in that statement.
- Eric threatens to kill a bully after being thrown across a hallway.
- They are shown bullying a mentally challenged kid.
- They are shown to be discussing about who to shoot in the upcoming shooting while at lunch in the school cafeteria, with Eric says he wants to kill all blacks and Mexicans referring to them by using slurs.
- Also similar to their other fictionalized and real-life counterparts, their actions were so horrible that they left a huge scar in United States history, as their crimes went down as one of the worst acts of terrorism in United States history and left multiple survivors with PTSD years later, while also influencing similar other crimes in the future, making both of them the epitome of a posthumous and legacy type of villain.
What Prevents Them From Being Pure Evil?[]
- They are shown to be pretty affable with one another as they play video games together, and Dylan would sometimes drive Eric to school.
- They rely on some off-screen villainy as their full murder spree is not seen on camera with only Rachel's death being shown.
