Entity 01, also known as The Devil, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Bruno Gate) of the Five Nights at Wario's series.
He is the ruler of the hellish interdimensional prison known as Gray City and the creator of Emma, being the true cause of the curse that befell Wario and his friends and damning their souls for all eternity, having orchestrated everything, so he could ascend to a world above and achieve godhood before taking over the mortal realm and resetting the fabric of time itself.
Using Bruno Gate as his pawn, he managed to convince him to sell his soul to him, so he could cross the threshold between Gray City and the mortal realm, becoming more powerful and imprisoning thousands of people within The Theatre to be tortured and killed before being defeated by Wario once and for all. He is the arch-nemesis of Bruno Gate.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Was responsible for the events of the entire series through his creation of Emma, who was responsible for cursing and damning the souls of Wario and his friends, leading to the tragedy of the entire franchise as a result.
- Takes advantage of Bruno Gate, where he reveals that he plans to reach the Overworld to find out the reason why he was created and completely reset time. He tells Bruno that if he sells his soul to him, he will allow his daughter to be preserved through the reset.
- When he is released, he starts rampaging across the entire world, killing loads of people.
- Entity 01 would also imprison even more people in the Theatre, where they would be tortured until they eventually ended up dying.
- Easily passes the heinous standard due to being the one responsible for every single tragedy throughout the entire franchise.
- While the series did start as a parody, it got much darker starting with the second game, as the idea of Wario and the gang being undead monsters started being played for horror.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Has a genuine sense of honor as he kept his deal with Bruno Gate and, despite being a sore loser, he did cure his daughter of her sickness like he promised he would. There is no pragmatic explanation for this at all, and is a strong indication to be out of some kind of noble quality.
- Is presented with sympathetic insecurities, he wants to know why exactly he was created and desperately seeks to figure that out no matter what he has to do. Regardless of whether or not he chose to become evil, his insecurities are presented as being genuine and a consistent part of his character and motivations.
Trivia[]
- Entity 01 was initially considered Pure Evil, but later on in the two lore videos released to the channel his redeeming traits and possible agency problems were revealed and he ended up getting removed as a result.
