A woman's hand isn't meant to hold guns. It's meant to serve me.
~ Enshin expressing his sexism towards women.

Enshin is a minor antagonist in the manga Akame Ga Kill!. He is one of the depraved members of Wild Hunt and possibly serves as Syura's right-hand. Once a former pirate who'd wreak havoc within the seas until Syura recruited him, he is armed with an Teigu Arms called Shamshir.

While he appeared in the manga, he was not shown in the anime.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he did grow up in poverty as a child, this is never explored or given any sympathy.
  • He was once a former pirate, implied to have ruined lives throughout the seas.
  • When he and the rest of Wild Hunt "interrogated" the people at the Umatora Theater, He partake in the mass rape occurred when he mercilessly raped and violated numerous actresses without any remorse.
    • He also seemed to have no problems with Champ raping a child.
  • He and the rest of Wild Hunt had abused their authority and position to commit whatever atrocity they want across the Capitol.
  • During the attack with the Imperial Fist soldiers, he humiliated a female soldier and later raped her till he mutilated her.
  • He assisted Syura and Champ into murdering and raping Bols' wife and daughter in front of his grave. Though it could be possible he only partake into murdering the wife and daughter after Syura and Champ were done with them.
  • While fighting Kurome, he ranted upon one of her dead comrades, which was Doya, as he said "a woman's hand is meant to serve me". Proving his misogynism and sexism towards women.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]

  • While he does pass the General Standards, he fails the Heinous Standards to Syura, Champ and Cosmina who all have done worse with similar resources.
  • Despite his sexist attitude, he's shown to have some care for Cosmina. While he does seem to treat her just like he would treat any other woman at the start, he eventually mellows out and gets along with her in later interactions, and is implied to have romantic feelings for her due to him getting jealous of her flirting with Run. Unlike his friendship with Syura, there is really no pragmatic reason for his friendship with Cosmina, and this isn't subverted in any way.

Trivia[]

  • Apart from the other NPEs in the series, while some of his comrades in Wild Hunt, notably Syura and Champ, had took their part murdering innocent people for fun, but unlike Izou who doesn't enjoy torturing people, Enshin caused a mass rape inside the Utamora Theater and is one of the people who brutally violated and murdered Bols' wife and daughter in front of his grave, he surpasses them as the only Wild Hunt member who has no excuse or qualms to the horrendous actions he and his group committed, unlike Dorothea and Izou, and the only corrupt official whose outright worse in violating and mistreating women, such as Bolic and Iokal as those examples.
  • He is the only Akame Ga Kill! Near Pure Evil to have surpass other corrupt officials in the Empire who were a rapist, even has a confirmed counting, despite it competing to the likes of Syura and Champ's.
  • He and Bach are also the only Near Pure Evils in this franchise to be male, with both similarly being Insufficiently Heinous (Although Bach has no redeeming qualities).
