Yaaaahahaha!!! In the shadow of death valley, you shall fear the apostle of darkness! I'll kill you, Batter!
~ Enoch before chasing after the Batter.
Ah... pant... ah... pant... Pathetic whippersnapper! Cold water eel! I had to drag my body filled to the brim with fat substances through the pipes of my own domain... It was difficult and humiliating, but... I'll devour your hopes for survival like a little sugar cube. ...with relish! Pant...
~ Enoch vowing his retaliation on the Batter.

Enoch is one of the three secondary antagonists of MortisGhost's RPG, OFF. He's one of the three guardians, ruling over Zone 3, also known as Vesper. He is the coldest of all guardians, and the very one of which the Batter is most vocally enraged by his actions. He keeps rule over his zone through the vile production of sugar.

His evilness ranking[]

What Makes Him Close To Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He lies to the Elsens, fooling them into trying to make friends which the malicious spirits known as "Spectres", in reality this gets the Elsen killed so that they may be used to create Zone 3's secret element, sugar. The player witnesses this in action first hand, and Enoch fully proves that he's aware the Elsen will be killed by these lies when he tries to trick The Batter into thinking he's using his zone as a defense against them.
  • He drugs his workers so that they may work harder, using his sugar as a motivator. The sugar, while efficient, only damages the Elsen's already fragile psyche, turning them into Burnts that The Batter must put out. Without sugar, they can't even function as shown by the Critic Burnt, who can practically only beg for help as the Batter beats him to death. Other Elsen can go into hysteria, and attack anyone they feel threatens their sugar.
  • By extension of drugging his people, he made them into into unknowing cannibals by feeding them the ashes of their own kind, and continued to enforce this through propaganda and authority.
  • Unlike the other Zone Guardians, there is no ambiguity to his actions and they are much more vile. While Dedan abuses his workers, he genuinely tries to defend them. And while Japhet attacks his people, it's because they forgot about him after all his good doings. Enoch simply wishes to keep his zone going, and stay in power. Getting constantly more people killed than the other guardians, and feigning ignorance to it all. The only character he doesn't quite meet in heinous standards is The Batter, who puts an end to the world. Though the game's ambiguity leaves a debate as to whether or not Enoch's deeds surpass even that.
  • He is fully aware that he has become evil, referring to himself as the "apostle of darkness", and bursting into evil laughter throughout his confrontation with The Batter. Unlike the guardians, he also doesn't try to argue his deeds just once The Batter sees through his lies. Instead, he immediately engages The Batter with a battle in attempt to take out the one who opposes him.
  • Although minor, it's implied by him believing The Batter was sent by The Queen upon hearing of The Batter's intent to kill him, that The Queen had sent people to rid of him for his vile deeds beforehand as he had sunk to a low even she could not stand for.
  • He was much weaker to the influence of his own power than the other Guardians, disregarding them completely unlike everyone else and showing no remorse for the misdeeds that go against his people. Instead, he began to see himself as a God and as said, did everything in his power to keep that position with no clearly demonstrated regards to even his own people, as by implied with Japhet's book that Enoch himself had always fed his subjects sugar from when he first gained power.
  • While it's unknown if he still cares about Hugo, or the promise he made to him, it can be assumed that he no longer cares as everything he does is in vein of the Elsen, who Hugo likely cared for and as said unlike the other guardians, he shows no remorse for his actions or any desire to keep Zone 3 safe unlike the others meaning that he probably doesn't care how his actions may hurt Hugo.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Evil?[]

  • He has some very comedic moments during his battle with the Batter. The Batter consistently pokes fun at his size, resulting in some light-hearted moments though these are very minor as they do not subtract from his vile deeds with Zone 3 being one of the game's darkest zones, and Enoch himself being one of the most terrifying and powerful foes the Batter faces.

Trivia[]

  • He's the only character from OFF that is Near Pure Evil.
