~ Demon Wario |
“ | Haven't you noticed how these branches from my root, these viruses, can take any shape they want? How they can take a visual form of the people they possessed? The victims that you killed in cold blood. Do you even think I'm locked to one voice? Do you think we're locked to one appearance? Everything I, we, have possessed, we have also absorbed. I am the VIRUS. They're part of me. I'm Emma, as people like to call me. Way back when Wario found our book and set the curse loose, he also set me loose. As I, the curse, the VIRUS, grew stronger by possessing them, I freely roamed around trying to use my limited power to kill anyone who tried to interfere with our plan. We are finally making progress. I'm soon out of here with all my energy this time. Eventually, he will be free. | „ |
~ Emma revealing herself as the progenitor of the VIRUS and describing her plans. |
Emma, also known as VIRUS and Demon Wario (originally Nightmare Wario), is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Wario's series.
It is a sentient curse and the cause behind the supernatural occurrences at Wario's Fast Food Factory. Having laid dormant for centuries inside an ancient spell book, she was unleashed by Wario in an attempt to save his company from bankruptcy and became responsible for cursing him and the souls of his friends after they were murdered, using their vengeance-fuelled anger to regain her strength and power as she roamed freely throughout the different facilities in the form of VIRUS, a twisted species/extension of herself in the forms of deranged replicas of her possessed victims.
When the spirits eventually had their curse lifted, Emma had regained enough of her power to drag Bruno Gate down into Gray City where she wore him down until she was powerful enough to cross the threshold between Gray City and Earth to further her plan of freeing Entity 01, her creator and master. She is Bruno Gate and Christopher Peterson's arch-nemesis.
Its Evil Ranking[]
What Makes It Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Was the one responsible for cursing Wario, Waluigi, Luigi, Mario and Peach as well as absorbing their souls in the process and binding them to the control of her master, Entity 01.
- When Wario and the gang died by the hands of Bruno Gate, their souls would end up cursed, leaving Rosalina with no choice but to send them back in time to hope for a better outcome.
- This however would go badly and create an infinite cycle where the cursed souls would keep getting sent back in time over and over again condemning them to an eternity of suffering. This is something that Emma is at fault for as the physical form of the curse itself.
- Tormented Richard McRoy in his nightmares so he would be more susceptible to Luigi possessing him, which allowed her to become stronger.
- In the first timeline, the VIRUS is responsible for an apocalyptic future where a large majority of the population was killed off.
- Claims Bruno Gate’s soul and puts him through a series of challenges. Emma at first acts nice to Bruno Gate but it is all an act it is using to manipulate him for its own agenda.
- Slowly weakens Bruno's soul by torturing him so she could use it as a bridge to the real world.
- Discarded Bruno and trapped him in a fate worse than death and was now free to start rampaging throughout the real world, and would soon be joined by Entity 01.
- Trapped a large number of people inside what amounts to a torture chamber where they are tortured and killed.
- Attempted to kill Christopher Peterson for interfering with her plans.
- Although Emma is working for Entity 01 and her entire plan is to set him free, there isn't enough information about their relationship to indicate she's truly loyal or cares about her master, and is only doing what she does because she's an extension of his power.
- While Emma on the surface fails the standard to Entity 01, we do have to consider Emma was the one who personally cursed Wario and the gang, and does at the very least share quite a bit of responsibility for all that happened. Emma also has its share of crimes on their own, like manipulating Bruno Gate and trapping him in a fate worse than death as well as personally killing several people after unleashing onto the world.
- While the series did start out as a parody, it got much darker, starting with the second game, as the idea of Wario and the gang being undead monsters started being played for horror.
What Prevents It from Being Pure Evil?[]
- She ultimately suffers from moral agency issues due to being created as an embodiment of Entity 01's power, who himself is dubiously morally ambiguous. Emma doesn't seem to comprehend right and wrong as despite her sadistic personality, it genuinely seems to believe that hurting people equals entertainment.
Trivia[]
- The reason that Emma currently has the rejected CM template on that Villains Fanon wiki is that, for a while, Emma was not a character in the FNAW franchise but there was a character named Nightmare Wario, someone decided to propose Nightmare Wario as a CM and he was rejected since at the time he was bog-standard. Since then a lot of stuff has changed, first Nightmare Wario was renamed to Demon Wario in the recent update, and Demon Wario was revealed to be Emma the literally physical embodiment of the curse as well as the VIRUS, so once Demon Wario got merged the Rejected template went with it.
