Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- She's the most dangerous, mentally ill, mean and ruthless of the Vipers, taking sadistic pleasure in violence and suffering, and is possessed of deep rage. She really enjoys causing pain and agony to others.
- Along with the rest of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, she participated in the massacre of the Bride's wedding, killing her husband and dozens of others and leaving her in a coma.
- She tried to kill The Bride while she was in a coma and was more than happy to let Budd finish the job after he incapacitated her.
- She repeatedly attempted to gain an unfair advantage when they finally did fight by relying on Hattori Hanzo's sword rather than fighting her on even footing.
- She poisoned Pai-Mei rather than face him in a fight.
- Despite having a relationship with Bill after The Bride breaks his heart, this still doesn't stop her from murdering his brother Budd behind his back. She does it coldbloodedly and states that The Bride, who's buried alive as far as she knows, deserved a far more honorable death. She then proceeds to fight The Bride in as dirty a manner as the limited space in Budd's trailer can allow.
- She is so sadistic she loves recounting her evil deeds and watching people she has killed die painfully.
- She is also a jerk and outright malicious even when expressing herself.
- While she was warned by Bill not to defy Pai Mei, she does it anyway, and pays for it. She later takes murderous revenge and brags about it to Pai Mei's best student. These deeds demonstrate she does evil deeds for the sake of evil.
- While the other villains do have redeeming qualities, she is just a complete hate sink.
- While she talked down to Budd for dishonorably killing The Bride, as she thought he did, she is the one who poisoned Pai Mei. She also tried to poison The Bride herself in her sleep while she was in a coma, which was so dishonorable that Bill called her out on it. And she claims to be disgusted by Budd's actions even as she was entirely willing to kill him, a fellow warrior and former comrade even, in an incredibly underhanded and cowardly manner.
- Despite not being happy about the fact that it was him to do it, she's clearly excited at the prospect of Budd making The Bride suffer until her last breath and later has no problems with killing him and lying to Bill about it.
- She is unpredictably dangerous and whimsical: if Elle isn't in control or isn't getting exactly what she wants, she will throw a terrifying tantrum.
- Debatable, but she seems to believe that the strong are the only ones allowed to dishonorably kill their opponents, as she indeed does. And furthermore, she feels she is the only one allowed to defeat The Bride, and is not happy at all when she hears The Bride was downed by Budd.
- While her allies are all evil, she's far more so than the others, and is the only one who is outright heartless and shows absolutely no regret at what happened and still hates The Bride with a passion. And while many of them know the benefits of being polite and respectful to others at times, she doesn't even try. If The Bride is a morally grey antihero with sociopathic traits, and her allies are going towards black morality but have some human or somewhat redeeming qualities, Elle is absolutely sociopathic and sadistic, with no good qualities at all.
- While her fate of having her other eye plucked out and being left alone in the trailer is brutal and played for horror, she deserved it for everything that she did.
What Prevents Her from Being Pure Evil?[]
- While she's normally very dishonorable and is ultimately not redeemable, she shows a light shade of honor in the respect she shows towards The Bride, despite hating her. Elle has a deep respect for The Bride as a warrior and assassin, which is why she chooses to murder Budd in cold blood - Elle believed that The Bride died in an unworthy way at his hands. In her own words, "that woman deserved better." That is a consequence of her Social Darwinism, her philosophy that only the strong survive, very probably.
- Elle does supposedly have romantic feelings for Bill as they are implied to be in a relationship. However, Elle is not above manipulating Bill for her own selfish needs such as murdering his brother Budd behind his back and lying to him about it. That being said, Elle apparently respects Bill enough to follow his orders such as aborting the murder attempt on a comatose Bride when Bill called the hit off.
