| ā | I'm a businessman, Mr. Silva. And I don't like to get angry. I get paid to see that things get done. And this, like everything else, will get done. | ā |
| ~ Eddie threatening Mr. Silva. |
| ā | This is Eddie responding once again on behalf of the Playtime Co. toy factory. Yes, it must be in complete secrecy. This project should only be known about by those with the authority at Warrenbach, and those with the authority here at Playtime. As promised, you will be compensated very well for this secrecy. Upwards of $100,000, keeping in mind that this is a ballpark figure. We're willing to provide the proper equipment needed for excavation; however, the more independently you are able to work, the more compensation I can offer. We'd still like to see the lab completed in 12 months time, but what's most important is that it's done right. Let me know if these terms work for you, I'm happy to negotiate until we find something that both parties can be happy with. |

| ~ Eddie's letter to Warrenbach Construction |
Eddie M.N. Ritterman is a supporting antagonist in the Poppy Playtime franchise.
He was an enigmatic and reclusive higher-up at Playtime Co. serving as its Head of Research. In reality, Eddie is the self-proclaimed "businessman" of Playtime Co., directly responsible for keeping the unethical aspects of the company a secret, while also ensuring its crimes are never made public.
He was also one of the conspirators within the Bigger Bodies Initiative, overseeing the construction of various key Playtime projects, such as the Game Station, The Labs, and The Prison.
He was voiced by Chris Tester.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- Generally, Eddie is a remorseless businessman who has no problem participating in the bigger bodies initiative and willingly allows the systematic torture of hundreds of children for nothing but profit.
- He is most notably responsible for keeping most of Playtime Co.'s criminal activities a secret, allowing individuals such as Harley Sawyer to conduct his Bigger Bodies experiments without any risk. Essentially, he directly contributes to helping Sawyer subject the children to a horrendous fate worse than death.
- He is responsible for the construction of several of Playtime's highly unethical projects, such as, The Game Station, The Labs, and most importantly, The Prison.
- The Prison is constantly emphasized as being "Hell". We see the prison Eddie built in full effect in Chapter 4, where several of Playtime Co.'s experiments brought down are subjected to torturous experiments and cruel imprisonments. The Prison is directly responsible for several tragedies and unfortunate deaths, best seen by the mountains of corpses piling on top of each other.
- It is also implied by Poppy that the cruelty of the prison is exactly what Eddie wanted it to be.

- When the owner of Warrenbach Constructions voiced his concern for the morally dubious projects they were building in the factory, Eddie menacingly corners him at the ledge and subtly threatens to kill him if he continued to object.
- When the theatre fire incident occurred, Eddie was the main reason it never got public and remained a secret.
- It is insinuated by Leith that they had to get rid of many witnesses, making Eddie guilty of possibly mass murder.
- With Leith Pierre and Stella Greyber, Eddie betrayed Harley Sawyer when he proved to be too much of a liability for Playtime Co., and had him forcibly turned into a Playtime Experiment himself. While Sawyer's fate is karmic and well-deserved, Eddie's actions weren't out of justice, but solely to ensure Playtime Co.'s safety more than anything.
- It's implied that his way of killing people is to throw them off the cliffs, as by the near-end of Chapter 4: Safe Haven, The Prototype mimicked his voice and said "Try to land on your feet". Indicating he has done this to some disobedient workers, pushed them off the edges and sadistically telling them to try landing with their feet, showing that he's a complete psychopath.
- There is no indication that he cares for his fellow higher-ups or his employees, as their relationship is very vague. However, given Eddie's sociopathic demeanor, it is much more probable that he only gets along with his co-workers for pragmatic reasons.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- As undeniably awful as the Prisons he built are, he ultimately fails the Heinous Standards of Poppy Playtime to Harley Sawyer, who subjects hundreds of children to a painful fate worse than death by ripping their organs out and placing them in toys, while having roughly the same resources.
